I wonder how much of this is going to be behind the Wall wall, so to speak, like Hallow and the Twins, and how much of it is being added to the game before like the aesthetically-alternate ores.

Yeah, I'm really curious how much of this is width versus length. It looks like the Dryad and Nurse have some role during boss battles--only during expert mode? Are those new boss mechanics expert-mode only or what? I think I've managed to play through to hard mode legitimately...once? Twice? And never stayed attentive long enough to play all the way through it. If all the neat mechanics are behind the Wall wall, or way behind the Wall wall, it's gonna be a test to see if I can finally stick through it. Hopefully some of them will make getting there less sloggy for me.

I've already got some stuff lined up for a new 1.3 character: A bone pickaxe, platinum hammer and axe, extendo grip, brick layer, paint sprayer, portable cement mixer, sandstorm in a bottle, flying carpet, heavy work bench, glass kiln, furnace, and an absolute shitload of sand (approx. 1 full chest). Also, I'm praying for sandstone slab walls.

This looks particularly interesting. Anyone volunteer for hosting the server? If not, I have a desktop lying around that could manage. It would be interesting to see if I can set up remote access so I can manage the server from my laptop as well...

This also means that I get to spend a bunch of time getting a sandstorm in a bottle just so I can get my quadruple-jump before getting wings again. That was always my least-favorite part of playing.
I'd rather use yours if you've got a desktop lying around, but I could host it too. Just not on a spare computer.

400MB RAM for a small map could run on a Raspberry Pi 2. WIndows 10 preview still has a number of problems with the Pi.

Well if it ended up in my hands to server, I could get it up and going but thats likely about it until the day after, considering the release date is also cake day here ;)

Power settings make that pretty trivial, at least if yours has at least the functionality vista does. Change when the computer sleeps, there's an option to set that to never and screen off to... less than never.
