Just got a full Meteor set and Space Gun, and I can honestly say that after holding the LMB for about a minute, the blast noise sounds like a low, distorted voice saying "shit" repeatedly.

So... couple of observations:

1) Shroomite armor's stealth effect seems to slow enemy spawns for me. I made a sniper platform in the ocean and then... stuff quite spawning for a full minute, until I moved.

2) The tactical shotgun seems to have a "nextdelay" effect with explosive and high-velocity bullets. Only one pellet will hit a target per blast with those ammo types for me. Everything else works as expected. (I was wondering why everyone was gushing over it, til I changed ammo types.)

And questions:

If I import Crimson to a world that genned with Corruption, will it still be a valid biome to farm in? Will it spread during hardmode as expected?

High velo's definitely seemed to do full damage, for me... it just tends to put all the little popup texts in the same place :P

As for biome importation, it'll definitely be a valid biome (there's a crimson patch off to the west on forsaken's server I may or may not have been the cause of) but I've no clue if it'll spread.

I do NOT like the idea of killing tens of thousands of monsters to get all the keys for the dungeon special chests.

Oh whoops.
Looks like someone forgot to mention that the larvae thing inside of Hives can be broken by grappling onto a block it's sitting on.
Learned it the hard way, thank god for Magic Mirrors.

The Queen Bee is really easy to beat, anyway. Any kind of piercing weapon is amazing against her (and all bosses really), I used Water Bolt and meteor bullets. Basically the same strategy as EoC. Just jump in the honey every few seconds for that regen.

Any tips for fighting Plantera?
I've killed Skeletron Prime, the Twins, and the Destroyer. I've got shroomite armor and a hallow repeater with too many arrows.
I've got butterfly wings, lightning shoes, horseshoe cloud balloon, moon shell, and a star cloak.
The closest I've gotten Plantera was just over half hp. I've tried using teleporters to kite, but after teleporting a lot while waiting for my potion sickness to go away, Plantera killed itself.
The game is feeling very slow right now, because I'm trying to find a way to farm money effectively to get my repeater to unreal and my accessories to warding.
Is there a secret to killing him solo?

Yeah, taking her to the surface should reduce her maneuverability.

Question, where do you get the keys for the dungeon special chests?
In their respective biomes, with a one-in-stupid chance of dropping from any monster (in hardmode).
