How to beat the pirates with no problem at all.

* Build a flat area with a tunnel underneat, like this
* Get a weapon that can deal damage through terrain. Vile thorn, nettle purst, flails, Inferno Fork, pygmies. That kind of stuff.
* Sit in the tunnel, wait for the pirates to walk above you, and have at them.
* Tiki armour breaks this even harder. Have your minions kill everything while you go do something else afk.

I haven't found a single pyramid in the ~10 world's I've genned.

The one I settled in has all four alternative pre-hardmode ores, though, so that's cool. I wonder what hardmode ores I'll get...

Where does one go to report bugs on this game? Because I'm pretty sure I found one.

Unless you're supposed to be able to generate several thousand switches out of thin air in the span of a minute.

Heh, the switch bug was supposedly fixed. Its even in the patch notes.

Heh, the switch bug was supposedly fixed. Its even in the patch notes.
What was it before? Maybe it's world-specific, and I need to gen a new one to get rid of it.

edit: found the bug that was described. Mine's a new one. It was reported around platforms before. This one is next to any closed door, where there is a backwall.

The ice surface is my takeoff point with rocket boots, umbrella, and ice skates. Instant acceleration to maximum speed, traverse half the map in one long leap.

I vaguely recall reading about this before and recently remembered it, but I convinced myself I was confusing it with something from a minecraft mod. How does it work?

I wish he added a couple extra miscellaneous/trinket slots. But I guess it all the new trinkets either combine into one related piece or are replaced by completely superior alternatives (for example, mobility items).

newbie in terraria but i have figured a good base, haven't even killed Eye of Cthuluh, im exploring the world in search of resources for crafting a good armor (found some tungsten, iron and copper). iron armor is on the way, i just need to craft the boots.

i have unlocked the painter and the dyer along with the other basic NPCs, (merchant and grenade man).

nothing interesting anyways, but after several nights i have maxed out my mana pool and have just dropped a zombie arm, good along with an improved wooden boomerang. very handy for exploration.

Basically, ice skates on ice are the same thing as Hermes boots on land. Almost. Lower speed but instant acceleration. Combine with an umbrella for a gliding trajectory, and rocket boots for extra altitude, and launch off. Haven't tried with a feather-fall potion yet.

Oh, so I was confusing it with something else. I thought there was a trick with hermes boots and ice (and slow fall) that put you way faster than you can normally run even with the boots but if it still caps at hermes boot-speed (or thereabouts) then I, at least, won't be traveling half my world in one jaunt.

At the moment I'm diving for fireblossoms for gravity potions so I can easily find sky islands (easier than creating a bridge across tens of thousands of blocks, anyway).
