And I get the out of memory error. Great.

Will old lowest setting config.dat's from 1.1 still work?

Congrats to the devs making the game not work for a large number of customers without some screwball solution. And all for slightly prettier lighting. hooray.

My server keeps crashing after a bit with this:

"Unhandled Exception: System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
   at Terraria.NPC.SpawnNPC()
   at Terraria.main.Update(GameTime gameTime)
   at Terraria.Main.DedServ()
   at Terraria.ProgramServer.Main(String[] args)

And it never gets the chance to autosave. =/

Ooh, liking this update.

I've crafted an early game magic weapon. It is good to see that they have added early magic items, as they were lacking.
It's not weak, either...

Two things I don't like about the update - the minimap takes up too much space and blood crawlers are very vicious little snots. Outside of that I like what I see so far.

Hit tab a few times and the minimap is gone..

Seriously, those things are both evil and terrifying. The first time I saw them I didn't even attempt to fight, just fled in terror as it caught up with me at a cliff and killed me.

I don't think I've fought a Blood Crawler, but I have seen one.
Mainly, I've just been rushing through the biome they appear in, which I shall not name, to get to other places.

I can just notice how rusty I am with the game. I used to be able to travel the world freely even on hard and not have a problem. Now I am lucky if I can traverse 3 biomes.

Ohh well.

Edit: Figured it out. Use the hammer.

What are the ores in your guys worlds? Apparently there are variants for copper / iron / silver / etc.

Mine is tin for copper, lead for iron, and I think tungsten is silver.
