I'd be interested in this, every time I see a "new start" server, people bring a few thousand stacks of building materials with them and it's indistinguishable from any other server after twenty minutes.

If you think cheating will be a problem, you can always use the SSI plugin for Tshock. It keeps record of items that players have when they logout, so anyone attempting to change their inventory will be locked out until they trash the offending items.

Of course, the problem is that you'd need to ban piggy banks and safes, since they haven't found a way to track safe/bank items. And it does nothing to stop players with modded clients from spawning items within the server itself.

Even if you decide not to use SSI, you probably want to have Tshock anyway. There's an option to keep the world locked on easymodo (for you elementary school students) even if the ever-present powergamers kill the Wall of Flesh.
Otherwise I give you 1 week at best until everyone ragequits from being violated by wraiths and laser snails.

would be very interested in doing some MP. i did some with my friends before, was alright but they got bored too fast.

also that red/blue thing sounds cool

I dunno if banning piggy banks and safes is a good idea. Especially piggy banks are just so useful in transporting items around the map.
Easymode-lock sounds good to me, but I wonder if you can deactivate the lock later on without the need to set up a new map. When almost everyone's at Molten Armor or one level below that, Hardmode offers a lot more options and !!Fun!! without being super-annoying.

you do need a cross necklace, though. i assume you have one?

I think there's definitely a difference between using a strategy that might be considered an exploit and outright cheating. Not to mention that Skeletron Prime can still kill you even if you use the Hellstone arena. Yes, it does make the fight much easier, but it's not a no-brainer like Destroyer + Hellstone trick.

To get the Magical Harp, you need to defeat the Twins first which are much harder to defeat.
