Huh, can't seem to join multiplayer games. When I'm supposed to enter the port, I can't press accept.

Tell me, do all initial forays into the Underworld go like this in 1.1?

Use spammed sticky bombs from bomb statues and slime statues to dig a massive tunnel straight down. Rocket boot away from the lava and grapple the ceiling. Oh, a demon, shoot it with my minishark. Oh, SHI Wall of Flesh FUUUUU.

I'm playing a 1.0 world in 1.1, so I don't have any statues in my world and I've been too lazy to hop over to my "open pit mining" world to look for them.  I've not been using statue-bombs at all, though I have been using dynamite liberally.

I wish it were possible to make... MORE POWERFUL explosives. I mean, dynamite is good, but I really do want some more boom.

Explosives? Have the same power as dynamite, the only difference is that explosives are blacks that can be triggered.

3 sticks of dynamite plus wire equals an explosive keg that is detonated via wiring. Not quite worth it, though it is slightly bigger, I think. But yeah, bomb statues are cheating almost. I must have 20-30 stacks of regular bombs, and I'm slowly converting them whenever I idle to sticky bombs with a slime statue I snagged.

Combining dynamite into explosives yields slightly larger explosions, though it also needs to be placed and triggered to explode and isn't very much larger.  Still, if you've got a tunnel dug and want a bigger tunnel, nothing beats carefully timed explosives!  I think if you're using a good drill and the toolbelt for extended reach, you can do some pretty nice internal blasting.

Also, WTB: Sticky Dynamite.  Even if it costs 99 slime and 1 dynamite, it'd be so worth it.

Actually, they have a 10-block blast radius, slightly larger than dynamite.

I just got this. I have no idea what I'm doing but it's a lot of fun to just dig deeper and explore the world. I'm not going to bother with multiplayer until I have something other than shitty mobile internet to work with, but I expect I'll check out the bay12 servers eventually.
