Well, you can hop between worlds and carry your inventory over, but really now, endure the !!fun!! and be a man! Face the corrupted abominations and cross over to greener pastures!

And then, only hop to another world when you can easily handle the monsters of the corruption.

Alternatively, tunnel under the corruption. Usually the corruption only goes down to the end of the 1st layer or so.

I'm aware of how you can transfer your stuff, but I figured it would be fun, I can already reliably pass one corruption area, the other, however, is going to be trouble, also, I just got TWO blood moons in a row. It was fun.

First things first.  You're all soulless husks of what might have once been decent human beings, drafted into a sort of moral apartheid from your better natures in the pursuit of things made out of cute animals.  I love it.-Corvidae

I know it sounds minecrafty but I want minecarts that we can lay down on tracks and ride around.

I think vehicles, of some sort, and movable terrain, are the biggest places this game has left to go to be awesome.

Mmm.... aw man, I just had the best idea of movable terrain. Imagine a burrowing creature that actually pushed dirt up and down instead of destroying it (like we do) or ignoring it completely...

Actually, I have a question : Having not played the more recent updates, do we have any monsters capable of terrain destruction of any sort yet?

But anyways, mine carts are not necessarily the only possibility. Perhaps pushcarts or actual trains powered by slime would be cool.

Clowns. They will blow up everything. Except for the things they can't blow up.

Clowns spawn during hardmode blood moons and throw smiling bombs as their main weapon, which work just like regular bombs.  They're fairly indiscriminate, and if you're hiding in your base they'll throw a bomb anyways.  However they're fairly slow between throws, it's very easy to slip in and shotgun to the face before they get a second bomb in.

Things I'd most like to see?  Ramps so I don't keep getting caught on a fucking foot high clump of dirt, and vehicles.  Preferably, some type of meta-vehicle, like a walker or tank made out of blocks instead of some pre-defined shape.  Thus: Dwarven Mecha Wars.  It generally needs more of Minecraft's redstone though, if it wants to get anything very fun built.

Ramps or stairs, yes. No Terraria, I don't want to repeatedly tap the spacebar to go up a staircase, I'd rather just hold the A or D key.

Actual ladders would be nice as well, to give the W and S keys some function other than gravity potions.

Different races. Like dwarves. Shorter but slower.

Now I'm having glorious dreams of a "mech" literally built out of mechanics moving blocks to walk it across the landscape.

You know what, a decent block moving mechanics system, and we don't even need proper vehicles! Just build an entire line of blocks that move the block above them to the left, and with some sort of system for moving blocks to pass some of their momentum to a player standing on them...

Super treadmill!

Able to walk in tunnels that are only 2 blocks high? Because that would be pretty fricking awesome really.

Regarding ramps, I seem to recall that those are going to be in a future update. I'll go see if I can find a source.

http://www.terrariaonline.com/threads/moving-forward.15820/

The inclined slopes/ramps are going to be added in "the long term", which could reasonably be interpreted as post-1.1, so I dunno.

Given that 4 of those 8 things have been implemented to differing degrees, I'd say we can probably expect ramps sometime reasonably soon.
