Got this recently in a draw, and I've been loving it so far. I'm preparing to fight the eye of Cthulhu currently. I'm building an arena above my little hut, which will be converted into a church after I defeat the Eye of Cthulhu. My equipment is pretty good. I got a golden sword and bow from mining down in the caverns, my armour is only a copper breast plate, iron greaves and a mining helmet though. However I'm getting +8 defence from my accessories, which are a shackle with a +4 defence bonus, a copper watch with +1, a band of regeneration with +2. I also have a cloud in a bottle that I found in an abandoned house, and a depth meter that I made. Neither of them have any bonuses. I'm also full of shurikens and throwing knives, which apparently are the best weapons against the Eye. Or at least the weapons I can currently get my hands on.

Also, isn't corruption supposed to spread or something? I have a bunch of it to the right of my hut (I placed my hut there purposely. It's on the top of a cliff, just out of spawning range of the flying things, but close enough to fire an arrow into the corruption), but it hasn't spread a single square.

Early on, before you activate hard mode the corruption will not spread past stone, so it's fairly self contained. Later on it'll go nuts and you'll have some more stuff to worry about on top if it. And yes, shurikens/throwing knives are the best against EoC. Anything that pierces really. :P

Odd. I could have sworn that it was touching a bit of dirt. I know that it extends in the other direction though. Maybe there is a gap or something that it can't cross.

Hmmmmm, wierd. It might've been mud or clay, which it also won't spread to. It'll really generally only spread to nearby grass (grass on dirt, not grass on mud, there's a difference) or dirt early on. It's hard to remember the specifics of early game corruption, I've gotten used to how the stuff acts as of now.

It can't spread past sunflowers until you activate hardmode either.

Looks like only the first two (done with effing hypercam) are going up, because Retanizer has disappeared twice in a row after I killed Spaz. It was the middle of the night, and the bugger just vanished into thin air, with no death message. Either way, Twins are still probably most difficult. Oh, and the songs have no relation to the video beyond the fact that they had suitable lengths.

Even with minimum settings, I was getting fairly low FPS, and I am used to being able to dodge at the last second.  :P

I managed to get some souls of fright with a friend of mine on his server last night so I now have a flamethrower and that's helping quite a bit. Good to see my boss arena is up to code though.

So I got my demon wings. They're pretty sweet, though I'm sad you can't use spectre boots with them on. Also I managed to find enough mythril for the set, which was also nice.

For a boss arena with wings, you just use a plain ol' sky bridge, right? Doesn't that make Destroyer a pain with all the lasers? Or is there a separate one I should make for the Destroyer only?

you travel twice as far in the air if you have specter boots or rocket boots with the wings.

Huh, didn't know that. I was thinking of the rocket/spectre boot flying effect. Thanks for clearing that up.

Unless you summoned him in a pre-hardmode world, where only the whorepies appear to harass you. If you're going to kill him in a post-wall world, DO NOT build a skybridge arena to fight him in.
