Anyway I fixed or at least reduced my lag issues by turning up parallax to 25%. It didn't help much, but at least it had SOME effect rather than none.

The diffrence is demon wings are best since they go best with necro armor. Which looks the coolest. Well to me at least. Mime mask headgear, necro breastplate and cobalt leggings for style.

In making a boss arena I basically want a long horizontal stretch of land with platforms above the ground also in long stretches right?

I'm digging mine out just below the surface as I always disliked a giant hovering hollow square or what have you of stone.

It doesnt have to be extremely long. Just make sure you got lots of vertical space maneuver around skeletron as he floats about.

I generally enjoy ~250 for my arenas, sometimes 500 if I'm going for megaprojects.  All, of course, fitted in specific materials with some amount of backwall and artificial lighting.  I had one done up in pure red brick, 500 long, some 20 tall, solid backwall, street lamps for lights.

I may try something similar again, scouring and/or haxing for statues so that I can do things like spawning 30 skeletons at once to drop in an arena.  It's just a shame that plain stone is the only blocks you can vanish with wires...

Demon Wings + Adamantite set for Vanity Slots = Dragon!!!

I am a strong supporter of Shadow Armor myself.

Except for the helmet that looks absolutely ridiculous, which is why I always carry around my manly jungle rose.

Well, aside from the Draconic look the adamantite set provides, I prefer the Familiar vanity set, but since wings look stupid on it, I just switched to adamantite.

I always thought adamantite + Melee helm made you look like a gundam of some description.

Also noted about the arena. Currently hammering out the back wall for it.

If I'm doing this I'm making it look nice damnit.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else always keep ringing the bell until Navi the blue fairy is summoned, every single time?
Yes. The blue light makes the original colors stand out more and keeps me from confusing copper with adamantium and the like.

So are there different Hallowed and Corruption enemies in the deep underground versus the surface? I've got two containment rooms built for Corruption and Hallowed but they don't reach down to the deep underground.

Underground Hallow has some illuminant slimes and bats, as well as the occasional flying weapon of light (whatever it's name was). Underground Corruption has the corruption enemies, as well as a man-eater type monster that breathes cursed inferno, and the cursed flying weapon enemy.

All of those can contain standard cave creatures, except that all bats will be replaced into their illuminant versions in hallowed caverns.

Also, pixies and unicorns and gastropods don't appear in the deeper hallowed caverns, and I haven't seen slimers flying around in the underground corruption.

I've had slimers spawn on my now-corrupted Wall of Flesh highway. They aren't as common underground, but they do spawn occasionally.
