If the pump isn't on screen when it's pumping, it doesn't remove any water from the source.
...That... is a somewhat enormous bug.

Wish this applied to DF as well.

It looks like it's the same bug as with moving water over a long distance: water tends to multiply, especially when the source is off-screen.

Well, more than just slightly offscreen, it also seems to happen if the body of water is big enough.

A platform with lots of health dispensers + Adamantite equipment > 1.1 robo-bosses.

Guys, you don't need to have your base up in the sky to avoid it getting Hallowed/Corrupted. Hallow and Corruption can only convert Dirt, Stone, and Sand, and can only jump two blocks - so make your exterior walls three blocks thick, and make sure that they're not made of Stone, Dirt, or Sand. Hallow/Corruption might be able to convert Gray Stone Brick, so make your exterior wall from ore Bricks or Dungeon Bricks.

Does beating fleshy create corruption, or just speed up what's there?

So would a simple Hellevator stop advancing transformation?

It both speeds the spread as well as create some new spots of it.

Depends. If it's two blocks wide, no. Three or more, yes.

D = dirt
O = open space
B = brick

DOOD : Hallow/Corruption can jump from one side to the other
DBBD : Same

DOOOD : Airgapped dirt remains normal
DBBBD : Same

My minor issue with pumps lately has been that I can't seem to get it to pump from any lava source on a small map (see: ~500 wire pieces). Is there any workaround, aside from having seperate pumping stations along the way with their own appropriate reservoirs (or just flat out duplicating lava)?

That was fun.

I just solo'd the WoF with a lazy runway (An entire section of which I forgot to construct, leading to a comic moment of me jumping into a pit of lava), the spell you get from demons (It hovers for a moment, doing a ton of extra damage at close range), and a harpoon. Besides the spell and harpoon, my gear wasn't all that good, just some basic dungeon and hell stuff. It was close, but pretty manageable, since I did about 300x as much damage than he did if he got too close. I managed it in spite of falling into the lava once and getting caught behind a wall a bit after that, which still baffles me.

Rather than insta-gib, he throws you through walls.
Quite a distance actually.

The goblin tinker and wizard seem to spawn in any sufficiently deep drop.

I had them pop up near my hellevator in an open area.

Depends. If it's two blocks wide, no. Three or more, yes.

Major caveat, specifically when dealing with corruption -- the corruptors' (upgraded spitting soul eaters) ranged attack spreads corruption wherever it hits, apparently. I've had sky islands end up corrupted because of that, so be careful if you've got corruption right up to your break. One wrong spawn and a dodged spitball, especially if you don't notice it flying off into your base, can send the whole thing to purple hell.

Haven't noticed any hallow equivalent to this, fortunately. Might be wise to preemptively hallow up the edges, just to prevent it from happening.

Don't forget those thorny bushes that grow on corrupted grass, any corruptible block they touch gets corrupted as well.

Has anyone tried lining the borders of corruption with a few clay bricks? That should stop it from spreading once the WoF is defeated.
