Is Urist even a word for dwarves anywhere but here?

Nope, it's a purely DF term as far as I'm aware~

I saw that the other day while playing with a non-DF friend. He didn't understand why I was so excited and dug a shaft to Hell and made a room in the lava.

My demolitionist now has a very insecure room in the middle of the corruption until I get one with the name Urist.

...My current one no longer deserves to share a room with my lava duplicator.

Why not just make his house a murder chamber until you get the one you want? It's the dwarfy solution.

Putting him in a murder chamber is probably the best option, since as soon as Urist shows up you can instantly move his house to somewhere safe straight from your GUI.

Okay, !!SCIENCE!! time:

Thought Experiment #1: Blazing Wheels in the dungeon hug walls. If you were to build a thin bridge out into the middle of a room, cut it off from the rest of the wall when a Wheel got on it, and then mine out all of those tiles, what would happen?

Spoiler: Thought Experiment #2 (click to show/hide)

Now to get to building that magma-powered space station... (Am I the only one who's disappointed that you can make Cobalt and Mythril bricks, but not Adamantite?)

I wanted to make Meteor bricks. No such luck, sadly.

Demonite bricks though, not bad, even if they look like obsidian bricks.

Fun fact: destroying demon altars after the first 3 spawns more Cobalt, Mythril, and Adamantite.

Adamantite mining would be so easy if not for the goddamn Chaos Elementals and Giant Bats. Just down a Spelunker potion and have a field day in the caves.

Okay, I'm willing to eat my words. The Twins are no longer hard after beating the Destroyer and Skelly Prime, as I just killed them twice in one night, for 55 Souls of Sight, with a net gain in potions, and only 1250 Cursed Bullets expended. It's the wings that really make the difference, as they let you dodge pretty much every attack once you've memorized the patterns. One of the key things is to kill the fire eye first, as it is much more dangerous (and from the experience of the first kill, you don't want to have to dodge all those superlasers while also dodging the charges).

Also, don't use the starcannon. Stars are much too slow to get a good hit percentage. I used my godly megashark with cursed ammo, and the full adamantite armor set with ranged mask, and it was absurdly easy. I just did laps up and down the skybridge, flying up over them at the ends, and when the flame eye charged/laser eye went to rapidfire. One thing that really helps is using the sound to tell where they are, as well as the tether between them (because the flame eye tends to lag behind when it isn't charging).

Sooooo... I think I have enough souls for a full set of Hallowed armor now, as well as some other goodies.  :D

Well yeah, if you're fighting them with top gear and a skybridge then it's easy!

I just assume that a flat surface for running away on is needed for any of the hardmode bosses. :P

Actually, I tried that three times with the Twins and never did more than 12000 out of 48000 health worth of damage before dying.  ;) The high end gear doesn't mean crap against the bosses (especially the Twins) except for one thing: Wings. Without wings, you aren't going to be dodging attacks, which means that you're going to be dying. A lot. The worst part of it is that making the boss summons uses up Souls, so you really don't want to keep dying to them, unless you like mindless kill-grinding. Of course, the wings are still useless if you don't bother learning their patterns, which are very predictable, and easy to dodge if you a) know when they're coming; b) know how to dodge them; and c) have the equipment (wings) necessary to dodge them. So I'm basically at the point where all I have left to do is grind the bosses until I have enough souls for the rest of the endgame equipment, and then that's it, because I can't do multiplayer for some idiotic reason.

That said, enjoy this pic of my shiny new armor and rainbow princess scepter of power rod. Try to spot the special detail that cost seven platinum to get.  :P
