Also, my bet's on the girl being a mechanic.
That one is an easy bet, but the real challenge is to guess her shallow personality archetype. I know where my money is.

Less talk about anime personality archetypes and more talk about how rad it is that they got the guy that did the music in the 1986 transformers movie.

Hmm, they are threatening that the new boss should not be faced alone.
Didn't they plan for skeletor to require a team? Short of 30k HP and natural 50 damage, I don't feel worried.

I'd be okay with two player required bosses assuming they don't spawn in single player. Because really what'd be the point?

I wonder if this means we could see recruitable friendly NPCs. It does seem silly that a boss would be unkillable in an entire game mode otherwise.

This is why I think that scaling bosses to the amount of players near them would work really well.

Wow, the thread sort of exploded after this dev blog update, but I just wanted to make something clear.
It's not like it's a huge priority to me, but I've always been bugged by the "infinite amounts of water on the edges of the map" thing...so I'm hoping with some piping logic in effect now, Red might actually be considering letting us play with finite amounts of water, instead of us just trying to find the most fun way to deal with unlimited amounts of water.
I have no idea where you got that "infinite water" idea from, but as it is right now, water is finite. Ever drained an ocean? It doesn't refill.

Water can be duplicated with a glitch. I guess some maps have similar glitch naturally occuring at an ocean.

Sort of wish the ocean did refill... In fact I wish the ocean on one side at least continued on for a while and lead to island biomes.

YOU MONSTER! AAAGH! I'M BEING DRAWN IN! NOOO!
Anyway, I agree with the personality thing. A Genki-Girl/Wrench Wench.

And is it wrong to want to be able to hook up a flamethrower or four to a pressure pad?

Yeah, just so long as the bosses are not unbeatable in any situation (really hard, sure), I'm okay with it.

I'd be okay with alternate summoning items for the multiplayer versions in single player worlds for bragging rights too.

So as we all know, discovery is fun, and even more so with friends.
As such, when the update comes, who else is up for asking Kael to gen a new world, and we start on the server with brand new characters?

So... on their bandcamp site... I now want to make a home in Underground Hallow. This should be my theme song.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

I'm actually okay with the bosses being unbeatable in some situations. I mean, you wouldn't fight the EoW when you have 100 HP, only a copper sword and when you're stuck in a 2x3 hole underground. In that situation, it would be unbeatable.

And yes, I'm all for genning a new world when the new update comes out.

Yeah I got confused there. It was actually an idea I had to pull off flowing rivers, by making the oceans infinite, way back when Terraria first released.

Oh yeah, by unbeatable I meant unbeatable when you are at your best, not beatable by a fresh charecter. :P

I heard the war horns even from under the ground, echoing off the stone and dirt. Time was short and climbing way back up woukd take to long before the goblin army reached the base. I was not about to let those snot colored jerks slaughter my home. With a whisk of the magic mirror I return to the fortress and armed myself, before hearing the horns again, now much, much closer. I raced to the battlements to see the goblin army in full,  soldiers and mages marching forward as they pushed their weaker kind ahead in a wave. With sword and bravery I dove off the balcony into the fray and began to slaughter them. The battle raged through the day, the moon rising as I fought on the old bridge. But looking above I saw that this was the moon that I dread, crimson red moonlight burnt into the world around me.

And then the zombies came.

So apperantly it's possible to have a blood moon during a goblin invasion. Though unlike the fluff above, the zombies waited until after I though off the goblins before showing up. Which is kinda sad, I really wanted to see the two prong fight.
