The worm awakens, BUT it doesn't shouw up.

Yeah I've noticed that too.

Supposedly he spawns a random distance away from you, but since he disappears if he enters non-corrupt areas. So I'm guessing he spawned outside of corruption and promptly disappeared.

Then again, the same thing happens with the EoC, so perhaps the distance they're spawned at is just too far away.

Is that new? I've had EoC chase me all over the place including non-corrupt areas.

EoC isn't related to corruption, only EoW is.

what I did, was terraformed the corruption to give me wide flat stretches, with wodden platforms for me to stay above him with.

 I faced the EoW in the long horizontal chasms that sometimes form. This generally reduces the number of times it jumps out of the ground, arcs back into it and forms a closing loop around you. It also means sticky bombs can be placed on the ceiling to mess him up.

Sorry I meant EoW. I have had him chase me all over the place, even inside my house which is not on corruption.

Yo Wolf, EoW is pretty easy. Build yourself a little building around yourself in the corruption, and then summon EoW. Since the EoW can dig through blocks, he can reach you, but all other monsters can't. He's also really easy to kill. Just make an ironskin potion and a few health potions and you'll be fine if you're not stupid. You'll probably want to use the Demonite Axe or Sword to fight it (kill an EoC, which is easy with a bow and a buncha arrows), and it's a breeze.

I'd go with the demonite hammer, but that's just me. Usually when I fight it, I'm fighting in a flattened area of the cave that cuts through the chasms near the bottom, and I've got swiftness/hunter/ironskin/shine/night owl/regeneration/well-fed buffs going on. Then I can pretty much kill it with anything.

You could kill EoC for demonite too I believe

I could. I haven't tried killing him yet.

Mainly because i'd need scales too, so killing him is fairly...ehh.

You don't need scales for the sword, axe or bow. And you don't actually need to kill the EoW for the scales, as its drops are per-section. You only need to kill some of it.

Correct. You can kill EoC for Demonite ore. Any bow and arrow can kill him so long as you keep avoiding him, but a gold or silver one is recommended, and flaming arrows are easy to make.

But, summon him as soon as night starts, as it does take a good amount of time to kill him the first time. And ironskin potions are your friend.
