From my point of view, as someone who played most of the game at release and only recently came back, quite a bit has changed, but not an overwhelming amount. There are many decor options to make your homes look cooler but things are a bit more convoluted now. For example, many of the old recipies are spread out over the new crafting stations.

Spears and Tridents lack damage and range. They need buffs.
Also, dungeon brick blocks need a nerf. Takes 2 hits to break 'em with molten pickaxe, while the brick walls take only 1 hit.

Gems. You'll need some luck for that though, heh. If you do find it, though, it's not unusual for a gem cluster to net you about 1-3 gold coins

Tried to get back into this game again. Man, so much has been nerfed, and not in a good way.
Back when I used to use full meteorite armour with a set of four star power things and rocket boots, so that I could fly through the heavens? That was awesome fun! Hell, I used to take on the giant eye boss and the skeleton thing mid air, because dodging is made a lot easier when you just need to fall a bit. Shit was epic!

Now? I'm a lot more grounded. Those potions for reversing gravity? Na, not even nearly as fun or useful for a boss fight.

While I don't really mind most of the nerfs, I do hate the new Skeletron. Back then, he was the ultimate badass. Now he's been wimped to the EOC-like stats.

Yesh! My house is looking ok now! And it isn't one of those wooden-pillar looking things I keep seeing. No, it's made of bricks, and 8x12 rooms and stuff.

I just need EVEN MORE STONE for my backing wall, and that might be enough for every person.
Then I can summon that wormy dude and kill him and make him into armour so I have armour.
