Setting your computer back to factory settings means that it's in exactly the same state as it was when it left the factory. It's like formatting your hard drive, except the OS (and likely the prepacked bloatware) is already installed.

edit: On the bright side, you get to explore  whole new worlds with a whole new set of chacaters!

Borderlines made a cool house. I factory'd my compy, so no stuff. Which also means no obsidian.

Hey, has anyone got a miners hat going spare? I can pay through grovelling and needless complements.

No, but I've got a level 71 Vintage Mining Light in TF2. If only that were usable in Terraria, right? :P

Doubt it, considering they are bought from the merchant and not dropped by anything. A new character might have trouble meeting the 1 gold price tag though.

 It used to be 10 gold too.

 So long as you don't die too much and get enough gems for the merchant 8 gold isn't an issue. It is a step on the road past the first tier of equipment, which I can see people wanting to skip.
