I haven't been to hell or the dungeon yet, so I don't know what's new with those, but I think the potion sickness thing is a bit silly. I mean, GOLDFISH give you potion sickness?
I would have been fine if this update had just the furniture.

At this point, you hardly even need potions. I was wandering around the dungeon and hell, supposedly difficult environments, for close to two hours, and I used a total of 3 health potions.

Other notes: Hell jars now drop normal health potions, hellfire arrows and some of the better buff potions.

Also, you can apparently now only equip one of any given equipment. I.e. you can't have 3 feral claws or 4 rings of starpower or whatever.

This does not make it more difficult or more, I don't know, "puzzle-y", just more boring and grindy.

Dungeons usually are grindy.

Has anyone found out if you can craft that wooden statue that was in the preview pictures? I got the stone one but no wooden one.

Not yet, I think.

Also, it seems you can't put blocks into lava anymore. So that means no more caissons through magma during hellevators. It's fine for water, though.

Well with the nerfing of potions you really NEED all the bosses to be easier.

Yeah, but there is a difference between good grind and bad grind. Torchlight is an example of the former, while the Terraria dungeons as they stand look like the latter, because literally all you do is find a spot without (m)any spike balls or flaming wheels, sit in a corner and mash M1 until you have a decent sized stack of golden keys, and then you go around speedlooting all of the chests like normal. So basically they took the old dungeon formula and added half an hour or so of pointless sitting around doing nothing, which I suppose is one way of increasing the length of the typical world...

I don't know, I guess from the description I was expecting something a bit more inspired than "farm monsters" as the solution to locked chests, although given how often that is the solution for problems, I probably shouldn't be surprised.

Miniboss fights in certain rooms in order to obtain keys would make it over nine thousand times less grindy IMO.

This + some sort of simple puzzles (even stuff like the pull-the-levers-in-the-right-order game) would have been much better, in terms of increasing replayability and depth.

Yeah, I think puzzles would be good. We should totally take this to the Suggestions forum!

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

The game really is crying out for more mini-boss action. There needs to be a nice big room at the bottom of a dungeon where most of the chests are kept, and guarded by a nice mini-boss that drops several keys when killed. Then they could go back and add a mini-boss for each biome somewhere in the world.

Only played for about 30 mins yesterday, but I got the impression that by and large, the game is a little easier. What forced you to use all your pots in 1.05 was needing to top yourself off every 2 to 3 minutes because of attrition. Now, with health regening 1hp/sec, if you're doing ANYTHING non-exploration related, your HPs regen by the time the mobs find you.

That's why I always ran around with multiple bands of regeneration. Which you can't do anymore, but then you automatically regenerate health now, so...

I haven't tried the new version yet personally. They suggest starting over, and I kind of want to wait for 1.1 and hope for alien worlds first.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I made a new character yesterday, Omga Silkthread :P

And that's her little cozy keep. Bottom left is brewery (obviously!), and bottom right is entrance to the mines, where I dig for clay, rocks and occasional ore.

Given that 1.1 will be huge update and surely not gonna happen in August, she might become a wealthy castle-keeper in few days :P
