Freeze. Everything locks up, sound goes into repeat, have to pull the plug. It almost never happens outside of Terraria.

If it's freezing, I would suspect graphics card overheat and/or failure.
Mine was doing that with Civ 5.  Boosting the fan speed fixed it, although it's loud.

I'll look into it, though it only happens in terraria and not other much more graphically intense games.

It does not matter what sites you go to, there is always a chance for a virus. You know the common flash game sites? Sometimes, they have auto-open ads that minimize your screen and scream at you that you have a virus, and that they have a cleaner to fix it. You would not expect a virus to be on those sites, yet there are. Image viruses, ad viruses, hell, even URL viruses... All of which can auto-open... Just download Microsoft Security Essentials, do a quick scan, and see if anything comes up.

I certainly would expect those site to have a "virus". I run with flash and javascript disabled 99% of the time. I'll give a scan when i get home to be sure though.

It's funny, I've never crashed while running Terraria, but I crash constantly while running Minecraft. Meanwhile, everyone else can run Minecraft just fine, but keeps crashing with Terraria.

Round 2 was different, since I had two pieces of the meteor set and a band of startpower, and 100 mana for my space gun instead of 60.  :P

Actually, other than putting standard pipes/gears/etc on the area you can walk on, I can probably see them allowing you to place that stuff on the back wall as well. Just a guess, may or may not happen.  Designs would probably be more confusing with 2 2d planes to work with but that's part of the Fun.

I had a successful hunt today. :) FINALLY found my Cobolt (now Jungle) helm, which completed my armour set. Now with super mana-recharging and 25% cheaper mana costs, I've been going crazy with the Flamelash and Aqua Scepter. :D

Aqua Scepter is, btw, my new favourite weapon ever. It's basically a super soaker. Or, if you will, a glorified garden hose. Either way, killing things with a deceptively gentle-looking spray of water is hilarious to me.

Y'know, if you need ebonstone I could always get a bunch for you. I'm systematically replacing it with dirt, i've done one side of a chasm so far... got sidetracked by the dungeon.

Doesn't that just let the corruption spread if its dirt, though?

Stone and back wall doesn't spread it, and it only spreads quickly along exposed dirt surfaces. I've tried planting corruption in the center of dirt, and it always seems to migrate out toward one of the edges.

Oh, sorry, I thought you wanted to make it bigger to get more eaters of souls.

If you do expand it, the outer dirt layer would be bigger too = more corruption.

I just got the game, anyone else have problems with random system lockups? been fooling around in single player and had at least 8 full system lockups that required a hard reboot last night.

A) Virus.

B) Lack of important thingies (.net 4.0, xna 4.0, prolly xnaGS as well).

C). Insufficient Ram.

Regarding B terraia wont even run without 4.0 or XNA 4.0.  (XNA dev)

Ebonstone!
May I place an order for a shitton?

IMO it looks pretty cool during the night with the hellstone lightning. I really arent sure If I should make it bigger in the actual tower or if I should leave the tower really thin, or do a more pyramid shape to get at least a few decent size rooms.

That's looking excellent, cerapa. :D Hmm... I'd keep the upper tower spire thin, but maybe create some sort of wider complex on the lower levels. But I'm not sure what you're going for in terms of design, so I'm just throwing out ideas.

I absolutely love that orb, though. The hellstone lightning pattern is epic.
