if they send their bugged character files to you, you can start the server in singleplayer mode, log in as them, and reset their spawn point to a bed near the center of the map, and send their character files back, which should fix their characters. (They're only unable to log in in multiplayer)

I just made silver armor. I would have had gold, but I accidentally sold all 67 units of gold to the merchant.
The best weapon I have is the Enchanted Boomerang, because I don't want to waste the resources on weapons I'm not very good with.
I have around 30 lesser health potions, and I could make them all into normal health potions after I farm the glowing mushroom spots I've found.
I have one whole row, plus one, hearts of health. I have two stars of mana, but no item that uses it.
Am I far enough to fight against iChtulhu?
I tried when he randomly spawned, but I got raped because hit attacks went through walls, and I was trapped within my own house, taking ~25 damage per second.
Also, does he drop demonite, and if he does, is it enough to make a nightmare pickaxe?

If any of you guys could do this:
- Go to Kael's new monster arena floating island (the one with hellstone) located at the end of the underground highway.
- Find the house inside
- Destroy the bed

I set my spawn point there and I think that's the reason why I can't connect with that character.

My spawn point is set there as well. I don't know if I can connect or not, I kinda forgot the IP.

Yeah. Buy shurikens. A lot of them. They're insanely useful. The boomerang isn't quite as useful against him because you have to wait for it to return to throw it again. Make a large, flat area beforehand to fight him, especially if you have hermes' boots, which allow you to outrun his charges. As for demonite, he'll usually drop enough for a pickaxe, but he won't drop any shadow scales (only the Eater of Worlds drops those), so the only things you could make are the light's bane (broadsword, 16 damage, fast speed), demon bow (13 damage, average speed [most bows are slow speed]) or war axe of the night (15% axe power, 21 damage, slow speed).

One last thing: Prioritize the little eyes. They do more damage than the boss himself, and he stops spawning them when he reaches half health, although he starts doing about twice as much damage himself.

Alright. I now have 121 shurikens. I don't have hermes boots, though.
I heard that boss monsters, when summoned, start at the first spawn point, which is where I build my home. I'll clear out a nearby area, but I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of my NPC's died. They respawn quickly, right?

Did anyone read about the "Future of Terraria"? They are going to  bring mechanism into the game (oh God I want this... muahahha), also, invasions and Town-Building AI (anyone ever played Love? Guess it'll be cool..).

What they plan for the game will change the gameplay a lot, giving lots of options for dwarves like us.
Too bad College and Life is coming hard for me this year...because I've been waiting for the games that are being launched now... gah.

I think they just start close to where they were summoned.  That's my personal experience, at any rate.

I would suggest building some form of boss arena, to at the very least keep the normal night spawns away.  Ideally there would be some platforms for you to jump between for easier dodging too.

If you are feeling really adventurous, you could skip straight to EoW.  I was at about the same place you are when I fought it for the first time, and while I did die (twice), I also got enough materials for a demonite pick.  If you establish a corruption farm and gather about two stacks of vile powder you should do fairly well.  Then again, if you fight Eyethulu first you have a nice sword to finish him off with...

Or Flaming Arrows. I used a Gold Bow w/ Flaming Arrows and Starfury w/ lots of mana and did pretty well. Only reason I died was because someone was talking to me and I wasn't paying attention to health. Also I forgot to make a bed.

The Breaker is even more powerful. The only complaint I have about the war axe and breaker is that they don't allow you to turn around when you're swinging them for whatever reason.

I broke everything. I crashed the game by walking off the side of the map. I've broke lava so that it floats forever. Lava randomly spawns and now my character slowly leaks lava. The hell is wrong with my character? I just wrecked a castle by spawning and leaking lava and it duplicating and falling out the bottom. Destroyed half the furniture.
