Make more worlds and farm meteors.

EDIT: Oh fuck. I'm in the dark, at the bottom of a really deep chasm, with an enchanted boomerang and purification powder as my only light sources, and there's a devourer.

EDIT2: Oh god, I'm trapped in the middle of another one, grappled to a single protruding tile, and there's two of them this time.

Devorerers aren't that scary. When I broke my first and only shadow orb, one attacked me in the dark (dynamite exploded). Wasn't too hard, just have to fling your boomerang super-fast in the direction you saw it going.

Now the second one..that sounds bad. Have fun!

Also I want that server software, but for single player. Because that looks AWESOME. Can you spawn lava too?

Also someone made a Spleef Equivilant involving falling lava. Looks pretty cool.

Did I mention that I love the pony community? Was talking in the Steam group chat about Minecraft and Terraria, mentioned I did not currently own Terraria, and when I got back from a bathroom break, I had a shiny new copy of Terraria sitting in my gifts box.

Being a part of the Herd has benefits I guess? :P

Also, I don't understand the love for the Hamaxe. It seems strickly inferior to my Axe and Hammer of night. I don't need an inventory slot that badly.

At least the gun upgrades are fun. ^_^

And the armor is useful once you've got any sort of magic stuff going on.

The Hamaxe just gets tossed to the side in favour of hellstone hamaxe anyways, doesn't it?

(I may have found access to hellstone before discovering my first meteor... :P)

Of course, this game is pretty easy all told. Once I got a merchant, I just bought a ton of potions, killed the eye with a bow and flaming arrows, built a nice Demon Bow and used the Unholy arrows to farm eyes of cthulhu until I was kitted out in demon gear, and then dug DOWN (with a brief stop to destroy some shadow orbs and kill the worm to get the bits I needed for armor.)

Some corruption seeds, enough ore for a weapon or if you get very lucky, two. Not much, but the lightsbane is a great addition to your arsenal.

Seconding that, the lightsbane is a huge upgrade from a golden broadsword/shortsword.

He already said, it's the tShock Terraria Server software. You can find it yourself pretty easy.

(If it is something else, sorry.)

I'd actually make the space gun first (as the first thing you're likely to find that uses mana), skip the meteor armor, the meteor hamaxe, and the lightsaber. If you max out your mana (easy to do) with falling stars, the space gun can be quite useful to start off a boss battle with. It doesn't use any ammo besides your mana, after all, and you can rapid-fire it (It's semi-automatic, so you either octuple-click or use an autoclick script).

Instead of using a lightsaber, I used a war axe of the night (demonite) for my melee combat weapon for quite a long time, and only replaced it once I had enough hellstone to make a molten (hellstone) hamaxe.

I have all the different phaseblades, but only for my collection. They may outclass the war axe of the night, but it has the advantage that it the same amount of damage and has auto-attack (you can hold down the button to keep attacking, instead of having to repeatedly click), and you can make it out of only 10 demonite bars, without needing any meteorite. There's also The Breaker, which does even more damage, but is Very Slow instead of Slow.

Of course, if you can beat Skeletron, you can probably get a Muramasa from the dungeon, which outclasses all of the weapons I just mentioned, and is one of the three best swords in the game (The Fiery Greatsword and the Blade of Grass being the other two; Muramasa is the only sword with auto-attack, and it's incredibly fast).

(Currently I'm using a Sunfury, a grass sword, and muramasa for melee, and various other weapons for ranged combat.)

Mana is maxed. But which can do more damage per mana...Starfury or Space Gun?
Because Starfury v. Eye is AWESOME.

Quoted because I don't think people noticed this. Also, because the idea of cramming 255 people into a single server made me weep for the poor fools who will actually try this, resulting in either computers melting into slag, ISPs sending cease-and-desist orders, or at the very least, servers becoming unbearably laggy.  :o

Also, I certainly hope they add larger-than-large maps at the same time, because even a Large map would be depleted in a hurry with 255 people strip-mining it.

The server will be fine.

At that limit, your main issue will be bandwidth. Hell, the main freelancer discovery mod server holds up to 200 connections on a core2dou E8500. But unless you have a business level enterprise upload bandwidth (which they have), you're never going to reach anywhere near 200. Maybe 50 for some of us, and 16-30ish for the rest of us like other games when lag starts to hit.

Also, our server's mostly back to normal, spawn's still higher though as base game can be kind of slow/boring.

And you're right, it is TShock's Terraria server system we're on.

Starfury: Each star does 15 base damage (minus whatever Eyethulu's damage resistance takes off), if it hits, and there's three stars, and it costs 11 mana to swing the sword. If you hit it with the sword as well, that's another 15-DR damage.
The space gun does 15 base damage for 9 mana. Since Starfury is going to do (15-DR) x3 or x4 (if you hit him with the sword) for 11 mana, and space gun is going to do only 15 for 9 mana, starfury is the clear winner if you're aboveground.

Starfury's main flaw (besides only working above ground) is having to get a direct hit with the stars for it to count, but since Eyethulu is massive...
