Vile powder is kinda like a shotgun, except not quite that powerful. It's neat, but I'd like a real shotgun - one that fires slowly, but a whole lot of pellets at once. I'd also like a goddamn rocket launcher. Sticky bombs are fine and good unless you need to blow a clear shaft upward with no rocket boots.

Btw, how far do shots travel, normally? I've seen them cover quite large distances, but does anyone have a concrete range for them?

Powders reach 1-5 tiles in one direction, and sometimes might go as far as to 6th tile from you. I think that diagonally they have a bit smaller reach.

I think he's asking about bullets. I know that they travel a ways off screen,  I use meteorite shots and often times when I miss a shot, it'll come bouncing back after a few seconds. Always catches me off guard. I've never thought to try and measure it though, guess it's a new mini project to look forward to.

Vile powder is lethal to mages. Their spells cannot get past my wall of pwn.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I am a bit confused how you guys manage to make such large screenshots.
I can see that they are taken individually and slapped together.. but still.. It's done so seamlessly.
You'd be surprised what Photoshop can do automatically with Photomerge and screenshots with the UI cropped off.

Eh, I don't do automatically anything, I just change the layer opacity to 50% and move it around until the overlapping parts don't look blurry. (but I'll look into that Photomerge thing). You can remove the UI with F11.

Maybe I shouldn't have deleted nearly every pixel of sky though, that took me a lot of time. It just looked... disorderly.

Tried using the widescreen wrapper, but I couldn't take screenshots that way (didn't want to do the PrtSc key way), F12 apparently didn't put the screenshot files anywhere.

Operation Floating Island is underway. Honestly, my jumping height is only limited by my mana capacity, and I'm working on that as we speak.

Hahahaha.  Yeah.  Photomerge will probably make your life much easier.  Dunno.  It's meant for actual photographs.  In Minecraft, it creates all kinds of spatial distortion, because real life isn't cubes.  It might work on 2D planes, haven't actually tried it.

*derp* Good to know.

The clouds and sun don't stay still long enough for it to look decent.  I don't blame you.

Huh.  I also didn't know that F12 took screenshots.  I'll have to look into this stuff :P

It's actually a Steam feature.

Oh!  Right.  Yeah, that makes more sense.
I rebound that to my mouse's thumb button.

My latest megaproject concerns research into lavaplication and lavapplication - which are the multiplication and application of lava, respectively.

The most successful design thus far is this:

The design at the top is a the standard two-cell repeating divider on top of a classic pyramid flow splitter set to deliver separate streams into the small-step liquid extender array, which multiplies the quantity of the original input at least four-fold. Meaning, you get as many full "tiles" of lava on the "out" end, as many times you clicked your button when using the duplicator up top.

I had a goblin invasion...once. After this, I have yet to see any new ones show up. I've killed several of the first two bosses, broke many shadow orbs and at this moment, plundering the jungle for jungle treasures (where I found two flippers in a row).

What triggers goblin invasions aside from shadow orbs? Also, we should have contests, such as having a team of people having a race with pre-determined supplies to see who can dig to hell first, using a straight shot tunnel.

On the topic of controls, F10 toggles a FPS counter in the bottom left.

Vile powder is batshit. Back during the leak, I remember being annoyed at how useless it was, then throwing it on accident. Same with bones. <3 teir two shirikens.

The problem with bones though is that they only stack up to 99.

It really is a shame.

Could you post a shot of the repeater up top?

...So the invincible form of Skeletron seems to be triggered either by a.) A little bit of time or b.) opening a treasure chest in the dungeon.

Either way, if you are quick enough, you can get nice loot out of the dungeon without dealing with any losses (if you chest your coins) and without fighting that dreadful skeleton with a copper sword. (Hint: All you have to do is click the item you want, and you will drop it where you respawn, at which point you can pick it up.)
