If you want armor, two EoWs is better (and easier) than one iC and one EoW. That's because EoW grants you one free piece of the kit.

I want the scales for a demonite pick, so that I can actually mine some of the better stuff.

Also, sticky bombs are extreamly useful, especially since I have mass quantities of bombs and slime gel.

You can definitely use chain lanterns, but I'm not sure about water candles. If you're going for ambient lighting, I'd probably say roll with hellstone or hellstone brick (or raw meteorite, I guess), rather than lava, since both are considerably easier to work with.

I'm also unsure if you need actual light sources or simply sufficient lighting. Obviously raw sunlight won't work, so merely sufficient lighting might not be enough, unless it's actually from a producing source instead of all over like the sun.

Easiest way to test it would probably be to build a room inside a natural lava pit, which wouldn't take terribly much effort. If someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll give it a check tomorrow

I want to make a house mostly (or completely) made of glass with obsidian as the walls/main structure, and lava as the ambient lighting (showing through the glass floor) that the entire house is suspended over.

The light source doesn't actually have to be inside the room so it might well be down to sufficient overall lighting (or it could be something else, like whether a light source is connected to any one of the walls).

Hey did anyone notice hellstone brinks blow up with dynamite, and hellstone ore does not?

I made a "clan home" with friends and suggested a 3 layer design: External with Gold Brick, Middle with Hellstone Ore, and Internal with whatever blocks they wanted (they chosen gray brick)

It looks nice, and the house (castle with a huge glass "elevator-like" tower, with land with our personal houses above it) "glows" due to the redstone..plus it can't be quickly, completely destroyed with dynamite due to this trick..

P.S.: It was not a Reference, I keep calling Hellstone "Redstone"..

I edited it hahaha, I meant Hellstone Ore...it doesn't blow up with dynamite, however Hellstone Brick does..which is kinda weird..

Probably a balance decision to make underworld structures destructable without making it too easy to mine the most powerful ore in the game.
