Don't diss the Starfury. That thing is a godsend when fighting the Eye of Derpthulhu. Granted, it was my main weapon at the time, me not being lucky enough to score a Ball 'o Hurt out of a shadow orb, but still.

I found that the best way to re-start playing is to have your original character first visit the new world and leave a chest with the initial necessities. For my current restart character, this was a set of gold tools, a stack of potions, some stone and wood, 20-stacks of Iron, Copper, and Silver, a 5-stack of Gold, a magic boomerang, a band of regeneration, and a bed. This allows my new char to avoid most of the initial tedium and get right to the usual spelunking and monster-fighting. Any more and it'd be too much I think.

The best way to restart is to just restart. It's the # of ores you require and what you're required to find that stuff that defines your early game experience. To me getting a gold pick just turns into an excuse to robo dig because it explodes the pre-underground blocks in 1 hit.

Unlike most games, Terraria's difficulty curve is inverted, and to me that's why I can play it repeatedly. Twinking basically sets the difficulty curve closer to a horizontal line, to me, even if it's minor.

The only exception I make is for garden worlds, but I don't really play those I just tweak them.

Just beat my first eye of cthulu, and dang the boss music is good in this game. Oddly enough I had used the starfury as my primary damage dealing weapon as someone mentioned earlier. Irregardless of how useful it'll end up being in the end game, it'll always be a joy to rain stars on that herd of soul eaters following you.

So I am slightly Irritated.
Someone of those I gave access to my server came in and flogged the Handgun that I had been searching for, for much too long (given to me by Max). While I will let this pass this time, I may not even throw up a server again if something like this continues. I am more then willing to give shit away, but seriously. Ask first...

I just realized something: Copper armor is almost worthless. I've known this on a subconscious level for some time, which is why I never made much (if any) despite all my restarts, but only now did I figure out just how useless it is. It would be more profitable to grind for shackles and sell all my copper than to make copper armor (and sell it when I get better stuff), and five shackles would have better defense than the full suit. And then there's the money I'd get from all the zombies...

Basically, what I'm saying is that the only thing I'll ever use copper for is a hammer (or at least a better one than the wooden version).

The thing was that I was using my Piggy Bank to help transfer from my old world to my new world all the shit I had gathered. Thus putting the gun in a normal chest, I had forgotten to take it back out cause I didn't think anyone would stoop so low...
