Mind you Skeletor isn't the worst boss because he is too hard... Frankly he would still be the worst boss even if he was only a quarter as difficult.

The problem is he is just flat out poorly designed and his designated fighting area, UNLESS ALTERED, is not only HORRIBLE to fight him in, but skeletor will use the ceiling for defense. He also has weird hovering attacks that entrap you depending on your map with insane ways to dodge. Not to mention he fights like a ragdoll making him a very uninspired fight.

Better yet? Skeletor protects the dungeon which is a Tier LESS the Hell... but you know what? I find Hell easier then the dungeon even when I am holding a blue candle

Wait, the dungeon is a tier down from hell? I thought dungeon was your end game crawl for cool loot... So where does the jungle fit?

I've found the controls to be a bit slow to start, but that's simply the lack of items. After you begin to acquire decent accessories and armors (such as the Necro armor set, Shiney Red Balloon, Cloud in a Bottle, etc) then it plays much like a platformer game, as far as being able to upgrade specific abilities without the use of a stat system. I have no problem running circles around bosses and regular mobs alike; when you get specific items, the game becomes almost laughably easy, because the controls are fairly solid.

Metroid was difficult until you learned bomb jumping and effectively using a screw attack... Eyethulu is difficult until you have +30% speed and at least a normal boomerang, as well as a flat surface to run from him on. It's a similar story for Skeletron, where you actually have the entire days worth of time to prepare the area as much as you like (since he will not transform until you talk to him at night). Taking down the above-ground part of the dungeon is something you are able to do. Utilize what you have available to you.

Fortune favors those who are prepared.

Personally I find

Hell>Jungle>Dungeon>Demonite

also here is the link for the worlds.
world 3 is the jungle base we built yesterday and today
world 4 is the castle in the sky that is apparently corrupt

Server is currently up on my Base World from singleplayer just taking it easy.

Yeah the dungeon stuff is much weaker then the Hell products.

Jungle can be considered on the same level as hell given that it gives the same quality items. Though as a whole Hell does give the better stuff.

It is unfortunate but in order to properly engage..... ALL the bosses. You have to create boss arenas.

You need to be able to cultivate red mushrooms like blue ones, because cutting the grass on the surface world just isn't producing enough. It takes 100x more effort to get red mushrooms than blue once you've found a plot, which doesn't make a lot of sense. The red ones should grow underground, somehow, too. Just growing on the surface makes the really rare if you do any digging, and they just should be growing in a cave. They're mushrooms!

I think I've probably given at least 4 worlds the "12 hour treatment" now with different friends, without really going on beyond meteorite.

Really, the game's content needs time to catch up with our appetite.  A few well thought out accessories could help rebalance the game in some places, like an accessory that just gives you increased pierce damage, allowing you to keep older less effective weapons and keep them semi-useful.

Rarity....I dunno. I've played probably 12 hours in the last two days with up to 3 people or more and we've found 1 or 2 chests. Granted, we haven't been tearing the world apart looking for them, but high rarity can really hurt in the early game. On the other hand, some of these awesome rare drops are way too common. It's hard to really say what needs to be super rare, when Shadow Orbs are a dime a dozen and a guaranteed item from the ~Demonite Tier.

The Molten Pick needs a nerf, just because the jump to a 100% power pick is too huge. TBH, they should have left all the "100%" style items out of the game and built their way there. The only way to rebalance it is to retcon those items.

Hell in general just needs to be spicier for the amount of effort it takes to get there. A few drops, the forges, the hellstone, but there's really no surprises there, especially in the topography.

There really needs to be more isolated sites inside the mantle of the world. Little temples or graveyards or small, one off things that are pretty evenly distributed. Nothing the size of the UJ. There is a point at which digging becomes completely pointless, and it would help preserve the desire to really check every nook and cranny of every world. (Or cheat and go clean it all out.)

You can buy lesser potions from the merchant, and later on in the game the price is insignificant. For this reason, besides aesthetics or if you really wanted to save money, red mushrooms kind of cease to be important.  I never found myself wanting for potions, and I was chugging those things like there was no tomorrow in places like the underworld and the dungeon.

Oh and the thing about chests... For me I went hours without finding many chests after the initial two or three, but after awhile the chests seem like they are everywhere and they get kind of useless cause you already have most of the accessories. Maybe that coincided with me getting the grapple, cause that accelerated exploration quite a bit. I had like 4 or 5 boomerangs at the point where I just stopped paying attention to the chests.

Yes, I know how the rarity works out. You find nothing for two hours then you find 4 chests and 2 dupe magic items in the same cave system. For a co-op game of 5 friends, that's still a pretty low amount of loot, and we haven't yet found that even with two or three people doing a lot of lateral exploratory digging. SP plays differently IMO because you're not trying to be cooperative, you can go out and whore loot for 2 hours straight. All I'm saying is the distribution could be a little more even, and less clumpy, especially with heart crystals.

As for mushroom, it's a completeness of features kind of thing. I want a health potion and mushroom industry, not having to buy 3 stacks of 30 from the merchant so I can get it done. If they can code red mushrooms to never grow underground, then can code them to grow only seldomly too.

Am I the only one that can't wait for the official forums? Terraria Online is a fan site but I can't even get a conformation email. Either way, there is much better info here at bay12 than the 'unofficial' fan site/forums. We can't really start sub topics here for obvious reasons. Did anyone here create a successful account on the fan forums?

How did you get all the seeds???

When I played as a new character with a friend, it was only the two of us, so there was enough loot to fill our slots, but not enough that we didn't have to share. So while he got the orb, I got some gold for a mining helmet. Because with he's helmet he had better defence then my puny mining one, he got gold armour, and I was stuck in iron, but he got a silver broadsword while I got the boomerang. In the end he was the tank and I was the DPS, and it was fun, and we were forced into that position because for some time there was only one glowing orb between us.

So not having something for everybody is a good thing in my books, but that was for two people. I don't think it would scale well.

You have full molten and a flamerang. I dare say you could grapple yourself to the ground and kill them both without needing a potion! Well you could save on the grapple if you have a cobalt shield.
