Just finished digging a hole. Three blocks wide, from the surface to the first magma. Now I'm going to line it with wood and put wood walls all the way down it, then I can get started on my city.

Or just grab a decent sword and an auto-click script (or get really good at spam-clicking!), and wade out into the horde. Seriously, Phaseblade + Ring of Regen for the occasional scrape, and zombies are no longer a threat. 

Or a decent pickaxe...

It's going to be made of glass blocks and silver brick walls primarily, with the orange tiles being Meteorite blocks, and the whole thing's going to be built into the center of a flying island. 

I approve. Include magma falls falling from the sides of the island and from the bottom, and you can call this the Eye of Armok. Beat that, Eyethulhu!

He just wouldn't take any damage, I can't seem to take him by himself and in the end he One hit killed me and then dashed off after the sun rose (I FOUGHT HIM ALL NIGHT) with 1000 health left. BITCH. Then the Old man wasn't there neither was he when night came so I thought that I could enter the dungeon. NOPE!!! I was only able to take off both hands, but it seems he does alot more damage that way...

The problem is that the Arena you fight Skeletron in is poor

As a suggestion... Build a Skeletron arena beside the temple... No matter what it takes.

It makes it a LOT easier.

In fact... build a boss arena for summoned bosses too.

Also are there any conditions I am unaware of that will prevent someone from moving in? because I should have gotten a demonlitionist and a druid by now...

Just go for the head. He dies after the head is taken out so don't waste time on the hands, they do less damage, slower than the head anyways.
build a shack with a bed to serve as a temporary spawn point and use ranged weapons.

Don't leave holes in the background walls.
Dirt doesn't work as a wall.
NPCs only arrive during the daytime.

I normally just convert the roof of the dungeon into a makeshift arena while I wait for the sun to set.

Does anyone know exactly what constitutes "entering" the dungeon? Can I leave a single tile of wall around the whole thing and loot everything I can reach from outside it?

I can see in a raffle, but just posting "Gimme gaym pl0x" is not nearly the effort that should be given for a game. Besides, you can find 10 dollars on the ground. If you are homeless, you don't have a computer. If you have both a computer and can afford internet, you are not even poor in the first place.

...I currently don't pay for my internet, my parents do. As for my computers, the first actual piece of hardware I've bought, not been given, was a second GTS 250 for my desktop.

The point is that I'm on a shoestring budget for the most part - I'm in a bit of an odd situation right now, where I don't have to pay for anything except for food and gas costs (and I'm supplied with the money for that), but in return, I have to keep this house in good condition.

...Actually, it's not that odd - I'm essentially house-sitting, but that's beside the point. I don't have any money right now. I'm not saying "gimme gaems nao", I'm saying "hey, if you have a spare copy and wanna be generous, I wouldn't mind it if you slung it my way".

Ugh.  I had a black out last night and lost everything that wasn't nailed to my character.

I've found like three, four treasure chests in the vast stretches of tunnels I've searched, and have gotten only a regen ring, boomerang and (two) double-jump bottles in artifacts out of the lot of 'em.  Goddamn, why is loot so hard to get?

Anyway, re-caving all of this map isn't very appealing.  This map's geography is kinda cool - my base is like showered in stars every night and there's a really neat, uncorrupted hill in the middle of the nearest corruption to the right - but as cool as my flooded tunnels are, I just don't want to cover ALL the same territory again.  :<

Also Eyethulhu comes and eats me EVERY LIFE.  After he eats me I respawn and go back down, and then when I'm busy diggan and exploran I'll get a message that he wants to eat me I'll get the message AGAIN.  Within the span of each life.  Can't be more than two or three days in-game, and he's generated the message like three times.  Comparatively, I've only had one Bloodmoon.
