Corruption just seems to be a time sink more then anything.

Especially since while the normal eyes give you a valuable resource and come out uncommonly during night... The Corruption creatures just throw their stuff at you and attack on mass.

Also I am not finding the game hard... I am just finding it long. Long to do anything.

Mostly.
I was hoping for better multiplayer support. And the content seems a bit shallow for now, even with all the things in it.
8/10
worth the price though.

It delivered. It has its cons, but all games do. Overall, this is probably funner then minecraft; for having gameplay, if nothing else.

When I tried to play multiplayer with the leak this weekend, there was some very, very frustrating mob lag-teleporting happening. Like, every single time I hit a slime that was falling onto me, it teleported onto me and damaged me. Same for eyes, same for meteor heads. Made fighting off even a single one of these mobs very hard in melee.

Oh, and all that was over goddamned LAN. So I doubt a connection can be any faster than that.

Does the release version have this problem too?

There were some problems with lag when I played last night, but not horrific (except when the goblins invaded, but there were hundreds of the fuckers).

Had a total of 8 defense.  Gold pick.  Every other tool only iron.  No miners hat, but a couple hundred torches.  No flippers.  No grappling hook.  25 potions.  A couple hundred arrows.  20 Bombs.  Spent about two hours just seeing how deep I could go.  I was starting to run out of torches about the time I found my first magma pool, and gained 5 hearts, a couple dozen gems, a hundred each of copper, silver, and iron bars worth of ore, about 75 bars worth of gold, and a health regenerator along the way.  Finally got trapped in a tight space with a swarm of mother slimes and skeletons.  Tons of fun.  No, the game isn't hard.

I think the game could stand to have worse death penalties, honestly.  It feels a little bit wrong to just dive straight into the earth recklessly, with no intentions of coming back to the home you built in the surface except by eventually dying... because there's just no reason not to, and it's the best way to farm up resources and get beefy.

I was just digging out a meteor, deep under water, doing my best to survive, when suddenly another blood moon hits. My eyes widen, and I shudder to think how I will survive.

Hell YES this is more fun then MC.

Piggy Banks have Wormholes attached to them, by placing a second Bank in front of a different Salesmen, ie, One in front of the Merchant, another in front of the Dryad, you can access the coins already placed in the first Bank. I am currently Testing if taking a Bank to the Depths with me could form a good way to Transfer goods early while continuing to splunk down the mines, Unsure though it Banks are Destructible once or unlimited...

Hey guys, have NPC reqs changed? I obtained a dynamite, got a lot of coins, even golden ones, I made the rooms like they should be... left for a while, spelunked, and hour later... still no Merchant nor Demolitionist. Just a bloodmoon and horde of zombies :P

Do I have to turn off the game or something?

Are you sure you made the rooms correctly?
~Dirt walls do not count.
~Platforms do not separate rooms. So if you have a single two room building, with a bottom and top floor, with a platform separating them, it only counts as one room.

I opened a Window to the room and they spawned, so it could be that you don't have enough light, I also discovered that they will not auto spawn in the room sometimes (Nurse jumpped off the roof when she spawned there instead of inside), so perhaps you need more height to that room too...

No, they haven't, I think. There seems to be a great deal of randomness here. For instance, I got the Demolitionist without ever having seen a Dynamite (just a few bombs, and I never used 'em). Just build lots of living space, people will come.

(I also suspect that building extensively is what attracts the Goblin siege, so be wary of that)

(I had to hit "reply" thrice before I got past the "new reply has been posted" thing. Goddam ninjas.)
