Yes ALL the new Biomes are tougher in Hardmode. Including some of the previous ones (Jungle Biome for example)

Mushroom biome previously was no big deal.

Now it spawns minibosses.

I knew Hardmode made some biomes more difficult, but it is good to see that the Jungle gets more difficult.
And the mushroom biome with minibosses? I'm in Pre-hardmode, do they spawn now?

Honestly? Not really.

About the same really. Heck a few are direct clones.

No, no... they're not minibosses. I think. Just... normal mobs. That kinda' hit around the level of hard mode mobs, really. Average >200 hp. Barring the shroomzombies, move pretty quickly.

And spawn pre-hard mode. Also those bloody ladybugs are monstrous. One occasionally follows someone back to spawn. Usually claims a few lives before someone puts it down.

The... the mushroom biome on forsaken's server may have been a minor mistake. It's very pretty, though! And there's a couple NPCs stuck in it, now >_>

(Protip: Later tonight it's probably going to get bigger, as more jungle mud gets transplanted. Do think I'll build a overhead transverse, though. Maybe a tunnel under it. Something to make getting through less of a pray-a-ladybug-doesn't-spawn thing.)

I really recommend the Gem Staves you can craft with eight of a gem, and ten bars of a certain material.

I don't think I've fought a Blood Crawler, but I have seen one.
Mainly, I've just been rushing through the biome they appear in, which I shall not name, to get to other places.

They're those red spiders in the red biome thing, right? They're more icky than deadly, really.

I killed one with my copper pickaxe.

If anything, the whole Blood Biome is creepy as heck, so it's probably more a psychological effect.

Yeah and it's filled with veins and other body-horror stuff instead of grass and vines... cool actually, but some people will find it very unsettling.

Anyways, beat one of the new bosses four times, the Eye of Cthulu five times, killed Skeletron, went into the dungeon, went into the jungle, and am ready to go to Hell. My defense is twenty seven, and my new armor is pretty good.

I'm... pretty sure I generated a world that had a Crimson on the left and a Corruption on the right of my spawn.

BTW, you can make your base out of hallow or corruption bricks now and they won't spread.
