Speaking of myths, light shard drops. I've been farming mummies for quite a while now, as I already have two dark shards, but the 10% drop rate seems more like 0.1%, and it doesn't help that pixies keep taking the spawns.

Does anyone else find it odd that you can't reforge harpoons?

Also, wyverns make it really annoying to build skybridges.

Also annoying how you can't reforge Water Bolts, but mine has a prefix on it. >_>

In other news, two ingame days of sitting in a little bunker I designed and placed so that most of the spawns would come from the desert (which allows mummies to drop in, but is too small for unicorns, and not positioned correctly for fliers to get in, or for laser snails to get a shot off) with a script running autoclick for Excalibur while I read a novel paid off. Time to go check the flail off my list on to-make items.

I'm preparing my bunker deep under spawn (about 100 feet below, not THAT deep...).  What's the most dwarven building material pre-wall?  Obsidian is pretty boss, but the "iridescent wall" made of ash isn't bad either.  Hellstone is also possible, but slightly overplayed I think, and rather a pain to harvest.  Do NOT want some crazy adamantine bricks (yet), especially as I've yet to beat the wall.

Most dwarven? Mudstone. Nothing says "I'm cheap and expendable" like mudstone.

Otherwise I'm gonna go with iridescent brick lit by demon torches. And backlit by magma.

Ah, the sweet smeel of the grindstone... 50 souls later, I've got my Dao of Pow. 4 plat later, it is Godly. Also, ran into enough mimics to get everything but the Star Cloak and Cross Necklace (of course, those were the ones I actually wanted.  ::)). Yeah, my ten thousandth dual hook or philosopher's stone, real useful. Oh, a Titan Glove, just what I need for a range-heavy endgame. Okay, a compass, so I made a GPS. I won't ever use it, but I can check it off. Although I do admit, the Magic Dagger is just awesome looking, and I really want to screw around with it in a pre-wall world.


Time to grind more boss souls.  :-\

It's times like these that make me glad I enjoy grinding.

Also that wyvern is pretty rough, jeez.

To be fair I'm probably fighting him before I should. (using laser rifle, mythril melee set, and a cobalt naginata when I don't have mana)

Okaaaay, why is this not letting me make boss summoning items? I'm by the mythril anvil, and I have all of the materials... and I'd already made a mechanical worm previously.

fakeedit: take wyverns out with the clockwork rifle- it's a LOT less painful that way

I'd been considering farming the wall of flesh for a clockwork rifle, so that cemented it. I'll get on that.

I got a laser rifle THREE times from the thing, I mean really. >:(

I actually found the laser rifle (with appropriate magic armor; my only accessories are utility and defense) to be more effective than using demon scythe.

Just run along my platform with it chasing me, aim down Falkor's throat, and give him a taste of the Neverending Laser.

Yeah, the laser rifle is actually probably the best wall-tier weapon if you've got the proper mana setup. On the note of Wyverns: it is absolutely lovely dogfighting with them and harpies up at the edge of the atmosphere. With a flamethrower.


Because I think the flamethrower might be the best and most reliable DPS in the game as it stands, on top of having an incredibly easy to obtain ammunition source. When I got good angles on the Destroyer, I was getting something like 1-1.5k damage/second, if not more. Also: KILL THE DESTROYER WHILE THE HEAD IS ABOVE GROUND.  >:(
