Woo, built my first hellivator. Interesting challenge, what with all the magma pools in the way, but nothing sand and buckets couldn't fix.

Also got a bulky phasesaber. Autoswing melee weapons = do want

Now to get that pick!

ED: I'm obviously nowhere near the hard bosses yet, but for those who are:

Okay, I'm as ready for the Twins as I'll ever be. I also found another 7 bars worth of adamantite while grinding for Souls of Light, which was nice.

Spew magic. Switch to ranged when/if you run out of mana.

Does silver bullets pierce or something? I've never actually used them, so I don't know, hah. If they don't you might consider swapping them with crystal or cursed ammo. They're both pretty nice.

Also! Food. Don't forge the bowl of soup.

Silver bullets are pretty much meteor shots with no ricochet or pierce. Or musket balls with more damage.

Then yeah, definitely upgrade to crystal or cursed. Either of 'em's pretty easy to scrounge up materials for. Crystal generally seems to do more overall damage, but cursed has a nice DoT status effect (that probably won't do anything to th'bosses) and higher upfront damage. They're both quiet nice, though.

I just noticed that my laser rifle has something like twice the damage output, plus the assorted bonuses for being Mythical, so I'm probably going with it. It is almost night...  :-X

Okay, holy shit. I just found out that spectre boots, cloud in a balloon, and wings... stack up. Basically. It took me five jumps (could have probably be reduced by one or two if I had glided the max distance) to get from spawn on a small map to the far edge. I could also do a standing jump straight to the top of the map. It's pretty freaking incredible!

Shit. Got the flame eye down to the mouth form when I ran out of space while at 40ish health. So apparently they move fast enough to keep up with a PC using Spectre/Hermes boots.  ::)



At this point, the only thing I can see working is doing the same, but with at least a 3x longer runway, and a star cannon. What I noticed was that the flame eye stays level with the path, but the laser eye flys all over the damn place, and is the one that is fast enough to catch up. I almost want to call it rubberbanding, in both a literal and meta sense.

You forgot to use a featherfall potion, while holding up.

We already knew about statues spawning mobs, so I decided to put it to work for me. Infinite fish and gel (those are the only ones I was willing to test out), anyone?

Managed to do that with 15 wires and a switch I stole from the dungeon. There's wire in the wooden floor of the lava room above me leading to the statue, letting me flip the switch and spawn mobs. The mobs will then come at me bro, falling into the lava and dropping their goodies onto me.

Try above, except instead of a switch, use a timer (copper/silver/gold pocketwatch + wire + 5 iron bars IIRC), infinite repeater. It even runs when you're off screen attending sexy parties and being an international superstar.

After my third failure against the twins, I decided to go after more adamantite, and got enough to finish the set with the mage helmet, with 11 bars left over. Going back for another run. Apparently, the solution to finding it is an inventory full of dynamite stacks and spelunker potions.

1. Go to cavern level.
2. Spam dynamite all over the place.
3. Drink Spelunker pots at 4-min intervals.
4. Watch for the color adamantite shines while spamming more dynamite.
5. Mine it.
6. FORGET THE QUESTION MARKS NEED MORE DYNAMITE
