Silver bullets would do a lot to help, It takes a while to get through all of the hungry on him with normal bullets.

And with the featherfall potion you're really more gliding through the air then even touching the ground. You spend probably 95% of the fight in the air.

Highway approach is still pretty nice, it just takes more patience then I like. :P

EDIT: Oh also, molten armor is a must like frumple said, you really can't hope to dodge the lasers with this method sooooo it's rather nessacery.

I love these new enchantment things. Just made a rapid gold bow (15% speed, 10% arrow velocity).

Enchantments really did add more to the game then I thought they would. Just found an intense demon scythe (+14% manaa usage, +15% damage)

Yeah, I went away for a day, and Kael's server turned from a nice little beginner's paradise into "Everything's killing me!"-land.

What is with all those arrow traps that don't do anything in the underground base?

I have to say i enjoyed starting out fresh on kael's server but end of the day it turned out impossible me to
play in there. One thing i've learned...i do hate pixies and YuniCorns  >:(

Anyone know any other 24/7 server around to build up?

I logged into Kael's server with my fresh-faced (female) character and immediately logged out. EVERYTHING IS KILLING ME.

How exactly do pumps work? I've got magma flowing over an inlet pump and an outlet pump up next to the ocean, but the magma's not going away. Are they on by default or off?

Pumps have to be powered by an activation object connected to them (switches, pressure plates, timers) with wires. as far as I can tell, the only way to connect the inlet and outlet is the wire connecting them both to the same timer. Yep. Sucks.

So uh, I didn't think I could get something like this. I just fought through a blood moon, and I looked through in inv to see a shackle. I scroll over it expecting some small effect or nothing at all. What I see is a Warding Shackle. +4 Defence. For still being in the first stage of this world/character, that is awesome.

Place a inlet pump somewhere, preferably underwater/undermagma.  Place the outlet pump elsewhere, preferably at the top of your dining hall.  Wire them together via physical wires - that's right, pumping out hell requires a wire line from the surface all the way down.  Activate, and enjoy your mist/magma fall.  They seem to transport ~4 buckets per click, and can be clicked as rapidly as you can click them.  A 1 delay repeater (gold watch + wire) is great for setting up flood traps.

I haven't tested what happens if you link multiple pumps together, or if you try to intake water and magma at the same time.  It sounds... tricky.

I'm considering holding off on the bay12 local terraria server, since it's easy to grief, in the sense that the wall of flesh can be killed, then boom, corruption.

Until then, I'll cheat my way to the top grind for materials for hours and get myself a fancy shiny cobalt armor.

Looking and looking for other servers but all are pretty much crap.
Tryed to play single but i feel its missing the fun of interacting other people.

Pic of my 1.1 base. Now that that living areas are more or less done, I can get to work on the temple. After I harvest a few thousand green bricks and walls. Blargh. I think it's time to start messing with those new wired explosives.
