Well, water in helldrops eventually evaporates and cobwebs are more trouble than they're worth, really, so all my helldrops pretty much end at the ground. From time to time, I also simply like to see how much damage you can get from falling from the very top to the very bottom (23260, btw).

Don't you have a grappling hook or something to shoot at the ground, as illogical as it might be?

What?  How else are you supposed to land safely on the ground except go at it faster?

I want this update already. Wanting to play pretty badly, but, based on past experience, I know I should save up as much enthusiasm to play for when the patch drops.

Yeah the Lucky Horse Shoe pretty much has a pernament spot in my inventory.

There are just some items where even if you arn't always going to be using them. You want them in your inventory just in case.

Speaking of project what can I do with a shitload of silver bricks?
All my homes are made of silver brick. Go build me a home (fall through Helldrop until you see lava to the left- equip Obsidian Skin, swim DOWN).

Technically though, you've already reached terminal velocity by that point, so I don't really understand why you take more damage from falling further.

There is no air resistance in Terraria, so there's no terminal velocity.

There is no air resistance in Terraria, so there's no terminal velocity.
... But you don't move faster! That would mean you hit terminal velocity, as your downward acceleration has decreased to zero.

Apparently you gain momentum while speed and accelleration remain constant.

So the player is obviously becoming fatter on the way down.

Damn those air-donuts!

In any case, the grappling hook trick means you go faster than terminal velocity.  Since you're not going terminal velocity, you don't take damage!

Think integer overflow.

It's like aging faster as you get closer to lightspeed. When you finally go FTL, you stop the aging difference.

...Or something like that...

It is aging slower. Time effects you less the faster you go.

Ditto. This better be a big-ass update, because this is taking forever >.<

not everyone is in the DFC steam group.
I used to be but got annoyed with the event/update spam. Has that stopped?
Nope.
Nope. I still get spammed. A lot. Like, three game event notices back to back to back.
Yeah that is why I left. Maybe there's a way to turn those off. Will investigate.

I suppose it's all relative anyhow. You're really only aging slower when compared to everyone else.

Especially when you take into account that you don't take damage if you're going LESS than terminal velocity either! We've just identified a universal law, boys! Objects in motion get damaged if moving at terminal velocity upon hitting the ground relative to the amount of time they were moving at terminal velocity immediately before.

Nobel prize, here I come!
