Another thing to note is that they do say it will be an optional setting as it's a bit of a performance hit, soooo even if it is terrible you can just turn it off.

Check out my home base. I made a giant lake next to my castle and am in the middle of building a ship in it.

This thing is huge! For comparison, that rightmost hall in the ship is the bigger than the entrance to the dungeon. The entire height of the thing is around two Eaters of Worlds stretched out.

I'm still hoping that Terraria will get updated with a way to make cloth backgrounds so I can make sails.

It wasn't too bad. The fun part was using tonnes of dynamite to blow out the lake (it used to be a desert).

The whole thing took about a night? Something like that. It probably gave me carpal tunnel though haha.

The castle is neat. Too large for my tastes, but still neat.

I didn't even see that sand thing. You can't see it inside the game. It's probably a remnant of the desert that used to be there.

Haspen: The castle looks like a mess I'll admit. The place honestly used to just be that one massive storage tower with 120 chests (you can see it on the right). But every time I got bored I'd just add something here and there. Eventually it became this.

I think I'll lay off decorating the ship itself until the update comes. Maybe some new furniture will come with it, it'd make things easier.

Would have been so awesome if you had put it on the real ocean. You could take out holes in the bottom as gun ports against those filthy sharks.
