100 stone + a workbench. (I think it's a workbench)

Yeah, they're quite pretty to have around the house. Also gray bricks are SO AWESOME.

Yeah, they're cool. It's a pity I went all Stalin on all my stone before the updates and now I don't have enough.

Lucky it's common as can be though.

I don't use fancy emergency switches for bloodmoon lockdowns. I just install double-door airlocks. Won't help against a siege, true, but then again I rarely bother to prevent the siege from entering (since they spawn all over the place anyway).

I usually just wall everyone up and sit on the roof with a weapon. Maybe a musket because they so cool.

I run out there with a sword of some sort and MURDERIZE. After blocking the doors to my tower with blocks, of course.

Hopefully we'll be able to bring stone statues to life to act as guards one day.

Speaking of illegal gun parts, you know what would be cool? A stinger gun. It shoots stingers, from hornets. It'll take illegal gun parts, a few vines, 30 jungle spores, and it would poison. And make a "fft" noise just like the real thing!
