I got a awesome glitch and now I am fighting 2x the goblins >_<
I normally wouldn't and thing it's the first time ever but: fixed.

It's been ages since I played this and it looks like they've added a lot since!

Yeah but the Goblin hoards are SOOO boring on single player. They suffer from "One at a time" Syndrome (in that I didn't feel overwhelmed)

Also I didn't get anything except spiked balls.

I really really don't want to have to start diging again... That was just a hellish time sink...

TNT the meteor. Fast and easy!
And it's a HORRID waste of materials, especially when it is super easy even with a gold pick.
I have a harder time with Nightmare pick, because the things die and respawn too fast.
You can easily mine a meteorite with 3 well-placed TNTs. That's 150 silver. And money is really easy to get.
Waste of resources? Ha.
But...but...that's another 75 health potions!
And for new players, money isn't that easy to get.

only problem with this world is there's a massive magma sea and no water nearby to flood it with.

That and the demons.
I thought water evaporates once it hits Hell now?

Well, if he's feeling particularly grindy, he could just dig himself a safe hole and just keep killing meteor heads.

Or you could make a little hut next to some water in the jungle and swing a pickaxe repeatedly. That's what I do.

anyone got a good current version compatible mapper? Terrafirma doesn't handle new maps.

I don't care cause I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me...

I turned myself into a monster, to fight against the monsters of the world.

1.0.5 maps? Yes, it does. You just need version 1.6.5 of Terrafirma.

Goodness I absolutely do NOT want to have to start digging again... It is just a time sink of HELL!!!

But I may end up having to since the updates are getting close to forcing me to generate a new world just so I can have some of the new features.

Most of the features could probably be brought to an old world with a bit of work.

When'll this update be?

Oh, and i'm going to make a bunch of buckets and fill them with lava and make a generator, if you still can.

You can still duplicate, if that's what you're talking about. If you want an automatic one, then yeah that's still do-able too but I don't know how.

Also, not sure if it's been posted here, but apparently, Blue has a list of things he's going to add in the future. Original post here.

Progression has been pretty slow over the last week. I've actually been in the middle of moving. I put an offer on a house before the first trailer went public, and got the keys to it the day before Terraria was released. (Great timing, huh?)

I just finally got my workspace set up at the new place, so I should be able to get back to the grind early next week. But enough about that, let's talk about the future of Terraria.

My immediate focus for the game will be patching up the remaining bugs, implementing Steam features, and of course working on multiplayer to make it more secure and accessible. Multiplayer is a bit of a mess right now, and a dedicated server with no graphics card requirements is very much needed. Content progression will be slow for the next few weeks until we get all of the necessities taken care of. Though, we will be adding a few new things here and there to keep you interested.

In the long term, we will not just be adding content, but new mechanics as well. Some of the ideas the we have been playing around with are:
Pure PvP servers with team based objectives. Worlds will be generated before every match. Imagine a CTF server where towers are automatically created on either side of the map. Players can fight it out on the surface, or try to tunnel into the other tower.
Adding sloped/inclined tiles to make the world smoother.
New harder world types to continue game progression (Ex: Alien plants, alternate dimensions, evil worlds, etc.)
Enemy factions that will move into your world, and build their own city. You can slaughter them while they are weak, or let them build up their strength to get better rewards.
More events: Volcanoes, earthquakes, more/improved invasions, etc..
Weather: Seasons, snow, floods, etc..
Farming, and stamina system that gives a bonus to player stats.
Mechanics for making traps and devices.

Terraria has endless possibilities, and there is still a lot more that we want to do with it. In the meantime, please be patient while we get the last few kinks worked out.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was posted before. A long long time ago, when it was originally posted. Also, Blue's the community guy, not the developer - that's Red.

ARGH looks like I have to actually, you know, Do The Research. I feel like such a failure now.

But anyway, in case people haven't seen it, I'll leave it there.

It's funny reading over that the # of things that didn't yet make the cut. Really am looking forward to weather and NPC groups. I think Re-Logic needs to start being a little more focused in their talks about what's in the future, because one day it's like "Biomes!" and then it's "Gear!" and then it's "Farming and Alchemy!" and then it's "NPC groups!" Maybe I'm just spoiled by Toady who has learned you can't start talking too much about what people aren't going to be seeing yet.
