I would love to put my hand up, but I have racked up over 700 hours, and read both wikis until the servers hosting them ran out of bandwidth. Although I have had just about no time to play since 1.3 came out. Have had little time for games at all, beyond indulging in the odd dungeon crawl between works.

I need to get my wizard hat some time.

I am swimming in wizard's hats in my underground hut. I've found Tim tends to spawn near the transition from rock to the underworld.

Huzzah! I've finally built up a stockpile of 500 stars! I can now utterly murder a solo of one of Kael's patented 50 EoCs.

Hey, got an issue here, I've met the requirements for two of the npcs, and made houses but neither have moved in after several hours.

I've got 3 gold, 100 silver, ~70 copper which I'm told is more than enough for a merchant's reqs and 4 bombs, which is more than I need for the bomb seller guy. (Had 5 but I used one for a M-M-M-M-MONSTERKILLLLLLL) Finally I've raised my max hp by one heart to fill the nurse reqs.

I've also got 4 houses set up (Solid wood wall with door, 2 torches, table, chair) one is owned by the guide. Three empty houses and three sets of requirements met.

Is there something I'm missing? Because peoples should be moving in. I have spent some time away, underground, in case you can't be there for them to spawn, but they haven't

I'm actually away from the computer that has terraria on it, but I'll ad a screen cap when I do get to it, for now I can say for sure though that I'm not using wooden platforms in my rooms

How long have you waited? NPCs will only show up during the daytime.

I'd say your houses probably aren't big enough. Also, you've got background, right?

after installing, while I was trying to run the game it runs through first-time setup...

and then stops.

Every time I try to run Terraria, Steam runs first time setup, then quits.

Help?

Manually install the .NET Framework 4 and XNA 4 distributables in the game's folder, then try to run it.

i had a glitch where it kept reinstalling before letting me play. i dealt with it by not letting it make changes to my computer when it asked for admin permission.

Room:

At least one light source, one door, one table, one chair, walled, background wall, 'inside space' must be more than 50 tiles or so.

Also, they only move in during daylight.

I didn't know about the 50 tile thing, the rooms may need to be bigger. But here's a pic

Hm... apparently its not 50 tiles minimum, its 8x4 interior space (and your side rooms are only 6 wide so they wont move in).

No one wants to live in a box that tiny! It needs to be slightly larger!

My rooms are 5 in height and 8 in width and they moved in ~~2 days after meeting the reqs.
