That's looking excellent, cerapa. Hmm... I'd keep the upper tower spire thin, but maybe create some sort of wider complex on the lower levels. But I'm not sure what you're going for in terms of design, so I'm just throwing out ideas.

I absolutely love that orb, though. The hellstone lightning pattern is epic.

I like the orb myself too. I will keep the upper part in exactly this configuration, although I might change some sizes. I intend the tower to be very slowly expanding as it gets lower to a 3/4 or 2/3 point, after which it will expand more rapidly to a width of at least the screen at the VERY minimum.

EDIT: I am extremely tempted to make the Dryad live in the test tower tip.

I wish they would put Glass Wall into the game already...

Due to the nature of walls the gaps between two different wall types counts as open space and can prevent NPCs from moving into rooms with such designs. They will have to fix the backwall system to allow for a different wall type as such.

Today I decided to get some magma. This is the area I first found it:



I learned two interesting things today:

1. Obsidian is not dynamite-proof. I got 21 pieces from the blast.

2. If you've got a big enough water source draining through a small enough hole, the water will apparently duplicate itself and become infinite:

Now I'm just having fun killing skeletons and dead miners underwater.

Just tear down the whole dungeon, walls first. Dynamite will help if you start from the top, and getting rid of the walls will stop enemies from spawning.

I found a chest way down in the underworld with the corner missing, and sitting with three other item-form chests.

Fun fact: If you save and quit in the middle of a goblin invasion, they keep coming when you load. Good for me.

I wish we could make turrets. I now have three harpoons and think they'd go nicely in guard towers.

I wish we could get guard NPC's. You could make a "armor rack" and put it in a room, and equip it with whatever armor/weapon/accessories you want and have it act as a gaurd and go around patrolling and killing monsters (and be on your side during PvP as well).
