Just bought this a few hours ago, because it's my style to buy games as they go out of popularity.
I have my first house set up, it's a pyramid so I can jump over it.
I was pleasantly surprised that you take things between worlds, and can give things to your other characters.
The farthest down I've gone so far is into the rocky dirt layer, because I'm slow, and I don't like dieing.
I don't have much iron, but I have a lot of copper.
What should I do next?

Get 27 iron ore, or 9 iron bars, make them into 3 chains, then farm for a hook.

I think I have 3 iron bars at the moment, so I just have to go and look for more ore.
How deep are gold and crystals?
I have quite a bit of silver, I think.

Since The Scout has asked me, I've put up the Magmabomber on my Dropbox.

Since my research was ongoing, it's slightly altered from what you last saw of it (and the landscape below is a little more flooded). For instance, I found out that it's the perfect complement to the infinite water bug. The one where you spill a bucketful onto a surface, then dig away one tile and it infinitely refills. Well, do that with an empty space below and you'll get an infinite trickle of water - exactly what my multiplier needs. The output rate isn't anything to write home about still, but the multiplication is there. Unfortunately, I have found a critical flaw in Terraria's fluid engine. Once enough water is moving, some interactions that would lead to water propagation stop. So if the focusing funnel is completely removed, the large mass of falling drops will prevent the multiplier from working at full strength, limiting it to roughly half of its lanes. To prevent that, a temporary gathering dish has been installed.

Also, since maps seem to record spawn places per-character, you might have to embark on a little trek to find the thing. It's to the left of the default spawn point. Look for a wooden staircase into the sky surrounded by lots of water and magma.

Ooh, I've been unintentionally quoted. I'm also about to die horribly. 4 health is not a good sign.
Wish I had a Sunfury already.

Also: That was one hell of an awesome failure. Although it looked scarily like some kind of horrifying hentai at the start. So many tentacles...
