It's probably best to just expand the existing glowshroom patches with mud and do other things while more mushrooms grow. Just check it occasionally to harvest some more glowshrooms for potions, you'll get seeds eventually.

In other news, I just spent three hours camped out in a glowshroom patch for mushroom grass seeds. Killing the enemies that spawned scored me four hooks. I still don't have any damned seeds.

Weird, I've got more seeds than I know what to do with, but I've slain legions of skeletons, and only found one hook on one of the first.  Remember folks, "random" really does mean "random"; even a 50/50 chance means you can try a thousand times and not get it.

Yah... if you're really after shroom seeds, build yerself an industrial strength shroom farm, several screens in size. M'big one nets a few hundred shrooms at full capacity and usually produces somewhere in the 5-15 seed range. The seeds do appear to be pretty ruddy rare, though.

I think an eventual project will be to convert th'majority of a small world's underground into a shroom farm. Potions, potions, everywhere~

quick edit: Actually, do the shroom farm, bust all the orbs to get the meteors to drop, and then make a sky road for star catching. Turn the world into a resto-pot factory. Hrm...

Megaproject: Connect the jungle grass to the surface/ jungle grinder room. Lotta mud. Lotta time.

So... earlier in the thread I saw a post containing the schematics for an obsidian machine. Could someone explain its operation, as in how one would go about refilling it (without doing the obvious, painful bucket method)
That is the method. You fill a bucket, then click above the small block, then as it begins to flow click again, you will pick up the half block and then give you a full block. Water can be done quickly due to the speed on which it flows, so rapid clicks are good. But Magma flows slowly and you need to have a good 1 2 1 2 tempo...
Takes about a minute to fill all up if anything...

The con is that it takes time to fill and the clicking.
But then again
The Pros are.
You don't have to go find Lava then go back up and find water then dig a method down to the lava then either set up a complex way to mine Obsidian without drowning, then there is the monsters that come at you, unless your barricade yourself in it but then there is the worms.

Basically you have those choices.
I prefer using the Obsidian Gen due to the fact I am trying to build my base out of Obsidian, and I don't want to go splunking if I am one short or something like that.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if there was a way I was missing to get infinite lava, because infinite water flows are fairly easy through trial and error.

I like this method more:

Build this:

Code: [Select]
## ##
# 1 #
#2#3#
#####

Put magma or water in 1, and it will split evenly, hopefully. If it's even, you can get one bucket from each side, 2 and 3.
If it's not even, one side will be higher and you'll be able to pick it up, the other not. So just pick the higher side and repeat the first step. Next time definitely you'll get two pickable blocks.

Magma has a bigger tendency to split evenly, because it's slow and chunky. Water flows very quickly and sometimes it doesn't realize it's sending most of the water to one side.

Using this along with Nevyn's overall design has helped out a lot. I'm still working out some kinks, and trying some slightly different takes on it, but it works beautifully for my needs.

It also takes a helluva lot longer to do lava than water... going through most of a lava supply took 1/10th off my water. ~130 blocks either way, so it's fairly efficient time-wise.

Shadowscale Armor Set + Feral Claws + Staff of Purification + Bloodmoon = Walking through zombies like a lawnmower.  This is just silly.  I'll feel bad about leaving my purple lightsaber behind, but this is just so much more useful, even if it doesn't have quite the same reach.

Hmm.. what would look good together with copper bricks?
I am using copper in the foreground, attempting to make a flying fortress. But what would look good as background walls?

I finally found my world's underground jungle today, and bagged myself a Staff of Regrowth, which I love using as a weapon. 20 damage, fast, hold mouse button for continuous swing? Glorious. :D

Also, does anyone else think the Eater of Worlds boss is really, really buggy? I've faced him three times now, and each time, died due to various circumstances (including being trapped in a 2-wide verticle shaft while fire imps teleported around inaccessible areas throwing magic at me). But each time I died, the game told me I won the fight, AND awarded me Shadow Scales and other loot for the kill.

This last time was just bizarre; I died during the fight by falling down a chasm, and respawned back at home. Didn't get any "u wins!" message this time, and the music was back to normal, but I still got a bunch of Shadow Scales. 5 minutes later, the boss music kicks up, and a tiny 3-segment Eater of Worlds comes charging into my bedroom. I kill him, and get even more loot.

What the fuh?

I usually do this on purpose: die, and let him come back to me, far away from the corruption and fully healed by my nurse.

So here's the plan
PVP world
Mission, Fill the core of their statue which has a volume of X with X.
Map, Hand made dungeon in which you not only have the Mobs to verse but other players.
Challenge, Getting enough Dungeon mats. What colour should it be.

The Dungeon will contain Chests with predetermined weapons and mats. you will need to find your Vault of Core Filling Mats before you can fill. So naturally builders will not be able to play.
Teams with either be 3v3 with 2 judges or 4v4 with chance of being a dick...

Help collecting Dungeon parts would be greatly appreciated...

What we need is a colour of Dungeon that looks good. Then we need folk to tear down their dungeons, Suggested armour and gear would be Shadow Armour, Molten Pick/Hamaxe and All slots full of Ferrel Claws. After that we would need like 4 or so who want to be builders to discuss how the dungeon layout should be.

Also ideas on what the Monument that needs to be fill are and what should be the filling resource.
