Oh son of a bitch.  I tried building some platforms in the air off a mountain, to find Floating Islands.  Guess where one of my meteors landed?  Yep, there's about a dozen tiles of Meteorite Ore, way up in the air.  Crap.

Well, I know there's a second one somewhere, but it's on the other side of the Corruption.

Been exploring a massive cave system, somewhere under the Corruption (I think, I'm pretty lost), and 900 feet down.  I've found a few heart crystals, and two Magic Mirrors.  Odd artifact, Magic Mirrors.  The exact same effect is achieved by saving and reloading.  But I like it anyway.

And to no surprise, I just tunneled into plantlife.  Oh, this should be good.

I disagree.  It would be fantastically useful, if you couldn't just Save/Load to return to your spawn point.  As is, the Mirror is fancy but unnecessary.  If it worked like Minecraft, where saving leaves you where you are, then it would be a dire necessity.  Which I'm actually in favor of, so that I could save the game underground without having to retrace my steps.

I'm just posting to vouch for the game. I've blown the last uh, four days or something, playing one character in one world with two friends. Almost every waking hour has been devoted to this top game lately, to uni work's detriment It's been extremely fun and it aint over yet. I throw money around a bit carelessly on Steam and the like but this was a great buy.

I haven't been able to find a floating island yet so today I decided to build my own 


My friend decided to slap a brick of ebonstone in my house. It was up the top out of frame, I managed to throw a stick of dynamite tumbling down below into my main area. The result was awkward.


Somehow I triggered my first boss, the Eater of Worlds, while mining away at my second meteor site. I narrowly won, woot.


The first time I found lava I got bumped into it and had a quick trip home. This second time I was a little more careful and farmed away, later getting my first obsidian skull 


One of the friends I play with sometimes mines like a retard, destroying half my area, lol. I tell him off occasionally but it doesn't really get through. Last night I put my only corruption seeds to good use, about fifty metres to the left of his home I'm going to act oblivious.


Going after demon orbs and meteors with expensive, no mistakes, dynamite.

I can't quite capture it with a screenshot but I've also designated myself the greedy trade baron. It's been great extorting my friends out of stacks of wood and other basic items for an accessory here and there

Project is going fairly well considering that I only decided to actually get on with it today.

(I ran out of wood, so some rooms are unused at the moment/lack doors. Also, that hellstone pit at the forge is due to be filled with lava)

The real work will be creating a suitably impressive tunnel system to the town and subsequently rebuilding said town.

This meteor is going to be very difficult to mine.  It's smack in the middle of the Corruption, on a pinnacle between two shafts.  Since meteorite only spawns were there was already earth (apparently), it's pretty small too, with little bits of ore scattered in the walls of the shafts.  Damn.  I think I might just have to dynamite it and hope for the best.  And go take down those skybridges since none of my meteors want to fall on flat ground.

Yea, I have had that happen twice, and it is a pure bitch to mine out. While you try to set down new dirt to stand on, you get knocked around too much. If you have an obsidian skull that will help you, but otherwise, blow that shit up and get out of there!
