My entire map? Unlikely.

However here is how my map is divided

In the center is a nice forest. Then to the left and right are corruption... then further right is the sea, further left is the dungeon and further then that is a Meteor pit on an incline (so I can't dig at it using my usual Gold pick forcefield strategy)

So I really have to work at it to dig in any other locations.

Use the mapping tool. Look at the underground: and blue patches (that aren't water) are mushrooms, it shouldn't be very hard to get to them.

Any Skeletron fighting tips when my war assets are:
Gold Sword x1
Gold Bow x1
Musket x1
Full Iron Armor
Shackles x3
Health Bar Hearts x7

I'll look for some chests for more stuff. And any tips for finding chests?

Tips other than "don't"? There's very little chance of you winning with that gear, especially with the time limit. He's certainly the hardest boss in the game (even if that isn't saying a great deal by some standards).

Skeletron is pretty hard even with full shadow and demon weapons. I'm gonna go to hell and try to get that lava flail or ust enough hellstone to make the huge magma sword thing.

Flaming sword + 3-4 feral claws = death to anything.

The BEST way to keep up with the damage required to beat him from what I see (without really high end items)

Is with unholy arrows and at least a demonite bow.

Unfortunately the sheer number of arrows required is immense

Anyhow I got two full stacks of obsideon and my Blue Mushrooms... I also found what I call "Hell Mushrooms"

How far underground does mud have to be to grow blue mushrooms?

This. You need a high-damage attack to kill him before time runs out - I don't believe anything below Molten packs enough of a punch. I killed him with a Flamarang and full Shadow set, bringing him down with ~1:30 left before morning. (And 20 large health potions, but that's incidental - it's time, not health, that'll kill you.  )

Unholy arrows + Demon Bow might work, only because the lower damage of the bow is offset by the arrows' piercing ability. I believe the boss has, what, 7 defense? If so, you'll be dealing (13 + 8 - 7) = 14 damage per hit, probably landing double hits thanks to pierce-through, for ~28 damage per shot. Assuming that's true, you'd need somewhere around 215 hits, assuming they're all double hits and I haven't screwed up any numbers. That's a lot of Unholy Arrows - accounting for misses and non-double-hits, I wouldn't attack him with any less than a full stack, assuming you're very lucky with arrow recovery during the fight. A stack and a half would be preferable. 

...yeah, I'd descend into Hell, or at least get one of the top-tier weapons from the Jungle, before even considering attacking Skeletron.
