Thanks!  I have been fultoning pretty much everyone I reasonably can, it is just so fun.  And it plays right into my Thief desire to clear the map... nonlethally.  Since sleeping enemies wake up, the only nonlethal way to permanently neutralize them is to abduct them.  Which, again, is soooo much fun.

And I did already notice a "troublemaker".  When I saw that he could harm other employees, I fired him.  I'm running up against the occupancy limits already, I certainly don't need some asshole who's going to make trouble.

Currently kinda stuck :/  Have to enter a series of caves to find something with a bee-codename (I know what it is but I'm being vague to avoid minor spoilers).  The area's completely cleared, and I'm searching the surface-adjacent rooms of the cave, but can't find any tunnel further in.

Not looking for advice though, I'll give it a few more minutes then probably check a guide...  Other than this one tiny hiccup, this is practically my dream stealth-game.

anything permanently missable/screw-up-able? this whole quiet business sounds finicky
Nope.
I can personally attest to the fact that if you repeat Episode 11 and
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
you can repeat the mission and get Quiet.
I don't know if you have to get her before completing Episode 12 because I didn't try.
That does beg the question. I assume that if D horse dies then you can't just get a replacement horse, right? I imagine the same for DD.
If you fuck up so bad that it actually tells you your buddy is dead (which I assume is a Very Big Fuckup) then they're dead. Hopefully unless you checkpoint.
But buddies get fultoned automatically when they're critically wounded so you shouldn't worry too much.

Also... weird little thing to note. Even though

Found it on my own.  Kinda miffed though, it was off the "obvious" path and there was no real cue for that.  When there probably should have been, IC.
Which also reminds me a lot of Thief.  I guess that's a compliment, though I've only rarely enjoyed getting lost.  The biggest stain on my classic-gamer credit.

@D-Horse
I made the mistake of trying to ride through an outpost once, for expediency.  D-horse fell down and didn't move.  I assumed they were dead and ran.  A few minutes later I called and some very well trained white horse arrived, so yay.  (I guess they got evacced while I was bravely running away).

I dunno anything about Quiet, but it seemed like I could have missed the dog.  But I assume you can go back and get him too.

Edit: Found SIX diamonds looking for the direction of progress.  I think I'd found 3-4 total up to this point.

I... think you'll have to replay C2W for that. Or, if you remember, whichever mission you first saw him in. Kojima said nothing is permanently lost (except dead/fired MB soldiers) so there's always hope.

Aha yesssss!!
Sorry but I just got my codename, and it's exactly what I wanted.
Octopus (:
My favorite character from Last Days of Foxhound, and exactly the playstyle I wanted (from the in-game codename descriptions).
I guess it was inevitable, since I've killed no Russians.

I've gotten octopus a few times before. It really depends on what I do per-mission because I don't try specifically for codenames.

Murder shithead recuee in question.
Repeat until catharsized.

I thought losing the enemy was kind of disappointingly easy at the end of that mission.

It still really fucking ruined my life, that whole mission.

The dog keeps running in front of me when I CQC something so I'm constantly kicking it. Hopefully it will learn but I doubt it.

I got my

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Pretty sweet, but I'm wondering just how useful it is.  It's supposed to be meant for stealth and I did manage to slide right past a searchlight with it but I dunno, it feels strange to have something that big be sneaky.  It's certainly fast though.  Might try switching on the fly between it and D-Dog depending on exactly what I need for a situation.  At least until I get the scouting upgrade.

D-Dog really is indispensible with that nose, it's just he's so damn slow.

Are you sure the D-walker is meant for stealth? I thought that's what DDD was for. DW seems more like a combat thing.

D-Walker can do both stealth and combat well when properly outfitted.

D-Walker is D-Dog Lite with a bit of gatling gun thrown in.
...I.E. he'll be whatever you spend GMP on him being.
