I can't find the keys to add points to the dwarves. Could I have some help, just started out...

I'm using a laptop, and my + and - keys aren't doing jack right now. Anyway I can change the key bindings for that screen?

Yeah. You can change the key bindings for basically anything i think.

That's odd that you don't have them. My brothers and I have laptops, and they have them. Umm.. I THINK you can change the keybindings on that but I'm not 100% positive. What about the - and + beside the backspace? Do you have those? Maybe those would work? [I have no idea.]

Press ESC in any window, one of the options should be "key bindings" or somesuch

That's odd.

They should work fine. The - one the number keys row works perfect, the + is a bit of a pain because I have to use shft-=

But they still work.

IF you have a laptop with no numpad you will amost assuredly have some kind of 'Fn' key that you can pras to get the keypad.  Have a close look at your keyboard, you should see numbers and stuff like a keypad on the keys of the right side of the keyboard, usually they are blue or orange.  Hold the Fn key and press the appropriate key to get numpad functionality.

I personally have NEVER seen a laptop that did not have this feature in lieu of a numpad, but I will not say that there are none out there.

hey everyone! I've been out of the game for a while and I just got the latest version of DF.
I was wondering, are your points at the bottom of the embark screen supposed to count towards your Dwarf's abilities and your items?
I don't remember that being the case before.

EDIT: I forgot that I always changed how many points I started with, and I guess this has always been the case.

There may be a special + and - key you can trigger by pressing fn+key on your laptop.  On mine it's fn-/ and fn-; but yours obviously may differ.

I got a USB numpad too.

there is always the option of the onscreen keyboard as well.

Windows -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> Onscreen keyboard.
