How do you even gain such ludicrous amounts of AC? I play mages and only ever get like 1-3 AC from random causes.

You have the AC of all your equipment plus enchantments.  Then there's a bonus based on your armor skill and the base AC of your body armor, which can be quite high.

Oh, huh. I always just generally have high EV characters. Maybe I need to play fighter types more.

I find AC better. I really don't know why. I just find it easier to slug off some attack speed for defense. Plus, Cheibriados makes a badass god for characters with AC.

AC is more reliable but probably less effective on average. the issue is with EV, yuo can always get unlucky and just get hit three times in a row and lose most if not all of your HP, even with 40 EV.

I prefer AC too.

I've had unlucky characters with EV.
My AC characters usually last longer, but always get their ass kicked by Mages.
An AC+EV mix is quite effective too, but its hard to train both at the same time. AC+EV+SH is even harder to train.

The only real way I manage to get a good AC/EV mix in my mage characters is by filling every slot with the highest light or medium armor I can without lowering my magic abilities much, and pray and pray for a ring of protection or something.

Also, I normally get much better luck/play a lot better than this. I have no hope of catching up to Seriyu's level 8 kenku AE at this rate. SERIYUUUUUUUU

HAHAHAHA. I already have the MfWn high score, all I have to do is lose! However since I just killed Sigmund with nothing but a short sword, I think I'm gonna play this one out.

Does anyone know if a DDFi who pray's to Trog a good idea? Other than the bad ass berserk and the constant healing, it seems like a bad mix.

I've seen some great things done with melee DDs. I don't know that necessarily it'll be a good idea to pray to Trog though, after all. You might want perhaps one spellbook and just a couple magic skills to get you through things. DDs are pretty swell at magic-melee mixes.

DD only have a -1 in magic except Necromancy, Earth, and translocatoins. Either you work Necromancy up to Vamparic Draining or your quite screwed on the means of an infinite heal. Unless you join a healing god like Elyvilon. Plenty of god heal really, but not all.
Regardless of whether its a good god or not, he has Trog's Hand, which heals me. Plus those mad-berserk Ogre's and Trolls he spawns, can really help when fighting one of those damn annoying and hard Player Ghost.

That kenku proved that my achille's heel is snakes.

Level 9, see a snake with a confused big kobold behind it "I can take it."

Snake bite, poison, snake bite, poison, miss twice, big kobold gets unconfused and poisons me more with his blowgun needles.

So yeah, snakes can be little jerks, and should be treated with extreme prejudice, for anyone just starting up.

Edit: While I'm at it, does anyone know how to disarm in webtiles? ctrl+direction just opens the browser menu. Using firefox if it matters.

I love the ghost mechanic but it's a total punch in the nuts when you're about to pass your last run and then die to it.
