I seem to have found a spellbook that's not on the wiki. O_o
It's "The Guide on Dusty Bewitchment", containing Confusing Touch, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Sure Blade, Petrify, Control Undead, and Statue Form.

There are randart books with random spells in them.

Ah, that would make sense. I've found other randart equipment, I just didn't realize there could also be randart spellbooks. Are any of those spells useful for a Spriggan Stalker?

I would suppose Sure Blade and Petrify would be useful on any melee char. If your relying on transmutations, though, maybe less so. Confusing Touch sounds less useful then Mephitic Cloud. Maxwell's is not great on non-blunt weapon chars, Statue Form is terrible for spriggans, and Control Undead is a little situational. Cant hurt, though, try it out.

Confusing Touch is actually not bad, but the rest of those spells are pretty worthless.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Ok, that's kinda the conclusion I reached. Luckily I stumbled upon a Book of Morphology a little later. The spells in there look a lot more useful, especially Sticks to Snakes and Ignite Poison. Other than that, the book has Cigotuvi's Degeneration, which sounds interesting, Polymorph Other, which I'm scared to use, and Petrify, which is in every spellbook I have.

Most impressive, he didn't even switched from Xom to something else since the very beginning.

Quote
XOM: polymorph agate snail -> agate snail
XOM: polymorph fungus -> fungus
Most usefull polymorphing :D

Fighting against the Crawl randomization is always an epic struggle, so congratulations to everyone that played.

Bay12 had less teams and players than at the last tournament, but it was fun to progress in the team scoreboards, where everyone points counts.

(if it's like last year, you can finish your currently unfinished games, it's new games that will not count for the score)

So, how did this tourny work? Does having more players penalize you in any way? I'd like to think about joining next time, it looks like fun. I'm not exactly great, or even decent, so I wouldn't want to hold back the team.

Sorry for not playing as much near the end. I'm glad we all got a chance to play, though. I had a lot of fun.

There's no handicap with the amount of player, every points count for the team, so a full team will have more chance to get more points than one not full.

And don't worry if you're not having much luck at Crawl, you can get points by killing uniques and ghosts, and even trying to get some good score with various kind of unpopular race/class combo, not only with runes and victories.

This system allow then everyone to have fun in contributing to the team progresses.

Hopefully in the summer official tournament we will have more players, especially if WebTiles continue to be improved , it could attract people that don't want to play ASCII.
I used WebTiles for the whole tournament, and it lacks most of the offline tile version brillant interface, it was satisfying and i'm sure the developer will improve it.

Does Webtiles have support for customizing the player "doll"? Because that was always one of the best parts about the tiles interface for me.

I liked the webtiles, I did hate the fact on how the mapview worked however. Offline you actually get a map, and in the CAO version you get to see the whole map(If you set your PuTTY to give you a better screen size.)
