Was lucky to survive them then, as i don't go much in Shoal end floor, i had no idea those javelins could do that.
But anyways, my nice run arrived
at an end in D:20 unfortunately.
Previously i ran away from this floor due to Boris destroying my Imps too easily and the location not really helping my poison cloud + ignite poison offensive tactics.
Getting back to D:20 with newly learned Demonic Army thanks to a Sif Muna recent book, i built an impressive legion of demons and imps that this time could certainly get rid of Boris as they would then be able to hold him inside of the burning clouds without all of them dying too quickly.
So i began to look for Boris without finding anything.
At some point i saw a hydra coming out of a corner just near me, instead of trying to Mystical Blast it, i retreated behind my legions to avoid some stupid death (Deep Elves are very very fragile to balance the power of the spellcasting skills, as at level 19 my Deep Elf had only 73 health).
From a corner of the screen (though it was a location i already explored), i noticed a beam coming and killing one of my demons in 1 shot and lightly hurting me.
I was seeing nothing i moved away from the direction of the beam, but whatever was firing got the opportunity from the "random energy" thing that allow a monster to move and shoot in the same turn
You swap places.
You hear some strange, mumbled words.
The bolt of cold hits your rock troll zombie.
Your rock troll zombie resists.
The bolt of cold hits you!
Ouch! That really hurt!
You die...
And to be sure the ray was killing my character, the damage were even more than my max health (the 1st shot lightly wounded me already).
Killed from afar by Boris (85 damage)
But i never actually saw Boris during the 2 turns it took to have him killing my character, so i imagine he turned invisible from beyond my line of sight, giving me no chance to actually anticipate his extremely damaging cold beam.
