Because the games I'm participating in are rarely updated, I have time to start my own RTD. Anyway, completely sandbox RTD. PVP allowed, teamwork allowed, killing "important" characters is allowed. RP reason is required. Action takes place in our times, but is fictional.
After discovering another planet with cellular life that is different from Earth in many ways, humanity has started bringing various materials back for study.
Most materials were not too special: metals with different properties, new combinations of known elements and the like. However, humanity also discovered a cell that had properties unimagined by science. Many laboratories were tasked with researching it, but the scientists didn't know about one property of the cell.
The cell could grow into a different organism and slowly take control of the brain and then manipulate the organism in various ways, creating dangerous mutants.
The research was stopped, but the infection spread rapidly. To slow the infection spread, areas around the laboratories were evacuated, bombed and shut off.
However, since the government needed the materials lost, the areas were declared open for everyone who proves that they are fit for survival there by completing a test, having gun rights and enough money to protect themselves against the infection. A lot of people went there in search of profit or adventure. You are one of them.
You have just entered Quarantine Zone 13. A life of adventure and danger awaits you.
Spec. Ops.
Forces of the government. Rare in quarantine zones. Sent on special missions. Are always well armed, have kevlar vests, gas masks, grenades and special training. Don't mess with them.
Free Men
Just people who want to earn some money by selling materials to the government and not bother with science or politics. Buy their own equipment. Power varies a lot.
The Market
Buy weapons from cities, sell them at Quarantine Zones for much more money. Very respected for keeping all other factions running - sometimes even the Spec. Ops. Have very well equipped bodyguards.
The Library
Scientists that don't obey the government. They want to do research on their own and will pay a lot to have rare materials. Hostile to the government. Have mercenaries.
Bandits
Lowly scum that will attack everyone weaker than them and take their guns and cash. Their bosses are very influential and powerful, but the lowly bandits are very weak.

The cheapest gun you can get. A mediocre single-action revolver. Still useful as a secondary weapon.
USP Compact (1400 Credits)

A much better secondary weapon with balanced characteristics.
MP5 (3000 credits)
Ammo: 30 round 9x19 mag (250 credits)
A versatile weapon. When fired in full-auto it's a great CQC weapon. When fired in semi-auto, it's probably the most economical weapon choice.
Remington 870 (3200 credits)
Ammo: 5 shells 20g (200 credits)
Great for mutant hunting. May be hard to keep fed, but the 20g shells it shoots are deadly.
M16A2 (5000 credits)
Ammo: 30 round 5.56 clip (400 credits)
A trusty versatile assault rifle. Boring, but it gets the job done.
G36C (8000 credits)
Ammo: 30 round 5.56 clip (400 credits)
A great assault rifle using the same ammo that the N16A2 uses. The "C" variation is designed for CQC, but the integrated scope makes it great at all ranges.
PSG1 (12000 credits)
Ammo: 5 round 7.62 mag (1000 credits)
200 credits for a round is a scary price, but if you absolutely want to overkill something in an extreme range, the PSG1 is your gun.

Mysterious mineral
Can be sold for 1500-3000.

Can be sold for 4000-6000
Infection cells
Can be sold for 10000-15000. Open this for FUN. Consume it for FUN++.
Mutated Humans - Slow and weak. Their only strength is their numbers. Provide great meat shields for alphas.
Mutated Dogs - Faster than normal dogs, never tire and are very aggressive. Beware their highly infectious bites. The good thing is they normally travel without other, more dangerous types of zombies.
Leapers - Twisted humanoids with very powerful limbs. Have a distinctive screech. Hard to kill.
Tentacle beasts - Alphas. Easy to kill with explosions or by using the environment to crush it. Very hard to kill by normal means.
Station 13
This is the point through which you enter the zone. It is guarded by Spec.Ops. day and night. There is a trade center where members of the Market sell their goods and a small hotel with a bar for people to tell stories and stay until they find a better place. Go out and explore!
Outpost I
The biggest military outpost in the zone. Has an entrance to the metro tunnels, leading much deeper into the zone.
