*Dun dun dun DUNDUNDUN!* Action World News. Tonight, a Retrospective on Evil.Hello. I'm Dan Ernest, summing up the events, of the past 8 months.

Things became very quiet as everyone believed the threat posed by the assorted Evil Genius' had ended. Many thought that after the show of force by the Forces of Justice, that these so called Genius' had faded into the background from which they sprung. This could not have been further from the truth. It was a ruse, while they gathered great power unto themselves. With the resumption of their public acts, a pall was cast over the world. Terror gripped everyone from the humblest, to the mightiest. It was in a sense, the calm before the storm. Working in quiet and shadow, the various nefarious leaders of these organizations had created great machines with which to hold the world to ransom.
The Forces of Justice had prepared as well, a tumultuous battle would rock the world when the Genius' reared their heads.
First to demand the surrender of the world, was Tchao Zhi Ping of the Whistling Zephyr. His loyal army, well versed in crime were foolhardy, headstrong. The battle was fierce but swift, as every force of justice descended like an avalanche. Casualties were low thanks to technological deployments by CARE and SWORD. Tchao Zhi Ping escaped and as no one knew his face but his dead minions, he remains at large today.
Better prepared, and next to deploy their demands were the forces of Technet. They had long hidden in the shadows perfecting their research. To no avail. Their superior technology bought them precious weeks, but eventually they were pressured into an ignoble retreat. To this day, no one is certain the fate of the minions of Technet. Crackdowns on the criminal underworld have yielded only rumors that suggest they are waiting, biding their time, and researching. Ever researching. We however applaud the men and women who stand vigilant against their return.
The Network of Crazed Villains, led by the illustrious Labrat was next to strike. They learned well from their brothers in Technet, and deployed a sizeable technological advantage to the field when their time came. Long was the fighting, and high were the casualties of Justice. It took the noble sacrifice of The Red Storm to end the diabolical threat posed by the NCV. The Red Storm and the Labrat grappled near the NCV's Doomsday Device, before tumbling into what is described as a "Phase De-Regulator". Leading scientists are baffled by the exact function of the device, though their best guess suggests that it shunts threats into an overlapping parallel-dimension where they can observe but not interact with our own. Amnesty was granted to any captured minions of the NCV as their leader had shown an uncharacteristic desire to help the Forces of Justice during his time at large.
Several key minions of SMOOTH were captured. With their leader, Reginald Gathord. They were apprehended aboard their space station, the Nova-5. The logistics of the attack were a frightening undertaking, and the world nearly caved to Gathord's demands. SWORD however was more than up to the challenge. They had a man on the inside all the time, who removed the security protocols allowing a small team to infiltrate the station and capture Reginald. Gathord's legitimate funds were more than enough to pay for a crack team of lawyers that prevented his incarceration in exchange for a plea bargain deal that gave the world access to the various inventions used to perpetuate his evil. He currently lives quietly under guard, in his mansion in an undisclosed location.
The Rural French Chateau that was occupied by the Ravenbourne burnt to the ground, destroying any potential evidence of crimes committed. Viscoth Norrec and a small force under his command managed to slip the noose set for them by LEGION, and remain at large today. No formal charges have been brought against them thanks to a dedicated law office that is funded by their mercenary efforts and works tirelessly to keep them safe from Justice. The passing of the Super-Villainy Prevention Act is what some believe prevents Norrec's return to power.
Dr Black of Black Industries was never located. After one assault was repelled, another raid on her stronghold was engaged only by incredibly advanced robots, capable of reasoning, squad tactics and military precision. At the cost of hundreds of lives, eventually an automated machine in the center of the compound was discovered to be making the robots. Reclaiming scrap resources from defeated robots and SWORD's valiant troops and reprocessing it into fresh robots to fight. Tactical explosives managed to level the plant. Some suspicion has landed on Dr Rose Smith who has recently started a leading research firm in Canada. When questioned about her disappearance for the past 10 months she smiled, winked and said "It was one of those things." Police scrutiny of this woman however has turned up nothing.
The foul forces of DOOM, known to be in possession of the Omega Cluster barely enjoyed any respite from the constant attempts at reclamation. LEGION sent thousands of men to their deaths in order to keep DOOM's attention focused. However, just scant weeks ago an attempted push by LEGION forces resulted in the buckling of DOOM's perimeter. What was discovered inside was horrifying. DOOM's mad scientists had made reanimation a distinct possibility. Those poor souls were apparently being constantly 'recycled' in order to provide for a solid line of defense. Regretably there was no opportunity for a science team to investigate the facility as a reactor meltdown occurred shortly after LEGION's victory. Taric remains at large to this day.
Some say the Disciples of Thought are still at large. And in truth growing cults across the world are under intense scrutiny by the forces of Justice. After the legendary battle in Peru some say the Disciples will never rise again. It regretably took an armed action by several world powers, and months of deprogramming but Peru has been freed from the clutches of Lord Thrakor. No research was recovered to discover how the massive tower complex in the heart of Peru would have been used to enslave the world but given the fanatical loyalty of its defenders, it has been dismantled for safety reasons. Lord Thrakor was never caught, as thousands of men and women in the cult claimed to be him. It is unlikely however that Lord Thrakor will arise to threaten the world again. The actions of the Disciples of Thought have led to police scrutiny being increased on all cults across the world.
Some say EVIL came closest of all to claiming victory. Resources were spent and morale was low when Lord Silver demanded the world surrender to his ability to fracture the very world. But the world rallied against this, the final threat. Severing supply lines, catching minions, slowly but surely whittling down the forces available to him. And thats when Lord Silver deployed his device. Specialists who had infiltrated his hierarchy had managed to disable a whopping 80% of the high-yield explosive devices, but the final 20% were enough to crack tectonic plates leading to new fault lines and massive earthquakes. Lord Silver was captured and tried for his crimes, but was later broken out by Dr Doom, to much media attention. Dr Doom remains at large, but Lord Silver seems to have faded into the background.
In the aftermath of the victory of the forces of justice, C.A.R.E disbanded. Natalia Shields has gone home to raise her daughter, and write a book about her experiences. The Vengeance Duo now tour Europe, giving talks about vigilante-ism. The Red Storm was granted a monument in Moscow, no one remembers who he was, all files that might relate to him have been lost or 'accidentally destroyed'.
William Barnesworth, the legendary Agent of SWORD who participated in many actions against Black Industries, has retired and is now courting Dr Smith.
