Vomit Forgotten Beast
« on: May 11, 2011, 12:25:11 am »

I shit you not, a FB made of vomit.  Knowing my luck, I've now invoked a shit FB to visit me next.  Due to the hilarity and amazingness of this creature, I have taken a screenshot.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My first thought was, "My cavern is barren, I'll let some FB loiter and then tackle them."
My second thought was, "Wat."
My third thought was, "Urist McInsufferableMayor should see if diplomacy is an option."
I will now be constructing some drop chutes to deploy unwanted dwarves safely and whole to the vomit feasting grounds.

This is astounding, I have no idea how to describe in words just how much I love DF right now.

The trouble with the drop chute idea is that if a dwarf arrives in the caverns reasonably safe and whole, that forgotten beast is going to die. Vomit is a liquid, and creatures made of liquids are comically frail, so a single punch will tear off limbs and/or large portions of the body.

Of course, if you've got other forgotten beasts down there, they might do the job this one can't.

i think such an important person like mayor needs at least 6z-high chute to make worthy appearance.

Wait... aren't forgotten beasts made of vomit cookable?
Nope. It's a non-organic (though in this case, "abnormal" is a better adjective) creature, therefore, sadly, their remains are left unused, and it doesn't matter if they're made of vomit, water, granite, or blue diamond.

I don't mean to alarm you, but it appears that your Dwarves are all in fact elephants.

I imagine a conversation between a noble and a cook in a restaurant when the noble eats the FB would be something like this:

Noble: HEY! Hey, Urist McCook! This forgotten beast roast tastes like vomit! Bring it back NOW!
Cook: Urist McUselesspileofshit, do you want to know why?
Noble: Yes.
Cook: It's because it is!
Noble: OH. MY. ARMOK! *vomits*

I've had a blob composed of vomit with wings chilling in the lake right below my entrance to the first cavern.

I think he got hit by a ballista bolt the first time he came. He has barely moved in the last 5+ years.

Strange. I'm quite sure i saw some thread about a fort that had a enormous blob made of vomit butchered and cooked.

Oh well.

Either way Vomit vomit FB wont last long in a fight.

Despite being made of vomit, the deadly dust made me fear for my fort's life.

Got a pterodactyl with a knobby turtle shell composed entirely of vomit in my caverns. Apparently it moves deliberately. It's teamed up with a giant steam shrimp.
