Does anyone else think that Dolomite should actually be a black mineral, and be incredibly tough?

I'm guessing it's a Futurama reference, where a 1,000 year old dog was encased in dolomite, shown as thick black stone.  A quick wikipedia search shows that Futurama is hilarious and inaccurate.
