Dullest tantrum ever.
« on: May 10, 2011, 05:50:09 pm »

I have a fort that was under simultaneous siege by giant badgers and a realization that I was in a salt-water biome.
Bet you don't hear that statement every day.

Anyways, my farmer threw a tantrum. Zooming to him, I discovered he was...sleeping in the food stockpile. While tantruming.

Even better, I had an injured child in the hospital tantruming.  That one was interesting!

I recieved an alert that a recruit calmed down.  Wait, he was tantruming?  When?  He didn't even hurt anything that I can see!

I had a dwarf tantrum while sleeping.  He went to sleep, threw a tantrum, calmed down, then woke up.   O_o

I still have no idea why.  His personality screen said that he had "Suffered the indignity of art defacement" but he was a lowly peasant who had never made anything in his time at the fort.  Nor was anyone destroying anything.

Later he threw another tantrum and destroyed his bed.  Then went mad and died, babbling, some time later.

I don't understand, though that is about right with anything DF related.
I just hope he dies the same death that all dwarfs deserve: liver disease.

I've had tantrums thrown by sleeping dwarves as well. Maybe they just move in their bed a lot ?

Or on a barrel, in my case.

Oh, pretty good. Tantruming on a barrel is much more dwarfy than doing it on regular stone.

Imagine a drunken, pissed, miserable dwarf climbing on the barrel, looking upwards and raging against the heavens (aka Armok) why is his life such a disaster. Much more badass than a regular tantrum.

I would never bet against a child in a fight with another dwarf. Three times I've seen children punch in a fully grown dwarf's skull. Once the kid was tantruming because he hadn't eaten in a month or some other elven nonsense, and took out the manager. Another time a Moody dwarf couldn't finish his toy hammer, rushed into the dining room for some murdering and had it served by a two year old. The last time, someone's husband got murdalized by gobbos and she threw a fit. Urist McJuviehall threw five across her face. And brain.

Not much can be done in the way of badass brain-destroying backhands when you're in a bag. Maybe they lull the children into a false sense of security with candy? Who knows?

Coincidentally, I had a miner's child (5 years old, tops) kill a steam HFS.
