The beast flops onto its side, breathing heavily, Daniel's spear lodged deep in its eye socket. Aso's sword is buried in its powerful leg, and looks like it would take some effort to remove. Blood wells around the spear, which apparently has managed to avoid anything vital in the Gryffon's skull. It gives a little choking sound, coughing up blood, and twitches its leg, clinging desperately to life.
